What an intriguing days racing across the board. It was hard just keeping up as the day unfolded.
In a day full highlights we look at aspects that kept Team Dynamic enthralled with developments.
Dynamic Results
Firstly, the day was rewarding for Dynamic Syndications when the now 2yo colt that we purchased as a yearling in NZ by SNITZEL / STARNET which is named at DANCES ON STARS and Trained by GERALD RYAN, ran a gallant 2nd in the Ken Russell Memorial LR on the Gold Coast.
This was the colts 4th run: 1-2-0-1 & $111,500.
Having won the Gr3 Kindergarten and now 2nd in the Ken Russell his resume is padding out nicely as a possible stallion prospect if his form continues.
Trainers Results
Dynamic Trainer DARREN SMITH again showed his class starting just the 2 runners at Newcastle - Rushing To Win and Nissle. Both started clear favourites and won with ease.
Darren is now 3.5 wins clear in the Newcastle Trainers Premiership and is running a close second in the Max Lees Medal for best Strike Rate. Darren has started 53 runners for 15.5 winners. S/R 3.4 on his home track.
Dynamic Trainer David Payne won the Gold Coast Guineas Gr3 with Florentina.
Dynamic Trainer Chris Waller win the Gold Coast Bracelet LR with Scorpio Queen.
Sires on Fire
COMMANDS won the Silk Stocking LR with MASCARERI EXCEED AND EXCEL won the Easter Stakes NZ LR with HILL OF GOLD.
MORE THAN READY won the Darley Crown with MORE STRAWBERRIES and had PHELAN READY placed in the Prime Ministers Cup.
LONHRO had a good winner Soros for Peter Moody in Melbourne.
ENCOSTA DE LAGO also had a terrific day with 3 Stakes Placed horses. Whilst no stakes winners were recorded, Saint Encosta ran third in the Rowley Mile, Potions ran third in the Darley Crowns whilst Just Been Lucky was second in the Silk Stocking.
Acknowledging Talent
Also on the day, our retained Bloodstock Consultant Gary Mudgeway was instrumental in the selection and purchase of Gr1 Winner Zabeelionare - Winner of the SA Derby Gr1. He gave advice to Corstens / Spicer to buy the horse.
That became Mudge's 4th individual Gr1 winner this year along with others Mosheen, and two in NZ including Choice Bro. Mudge & Dean have been mates for years and he works in closely with Team Dynamic and our vet Dr Tim Roberts at the yearling sales in conformation evaluation to ensure we continue buying the best of the best. As they say "three heads are better than one."
In Summation
It was a fascinating and successful day. All Dynamic key players had success of one sort or another. Super Sires performed as they do when quality matters. Another reason why we only buy yearlings by the best sires from top female pedigrees at affordable prices.
The are some exciting weeks ahead for Dynamic owners with some promising youngsters ready to step out for the first time whilst other runners have showed excellent improvement. We remain focused on reaching our target of 50 winners in the year and currently sit at 44 for the season.
We are confident the winners will continue to flow over the next few months. Make sure you follow the Team over the coming weeks!
