FLIC EN FLAC having won her first two races in succession to start her career, would require another 14 starts before our mare would again grace the winner’s circle. Incredible Pride in Our Mare I AM ME Everest Performance

The result may have not been what the ownership team of I AM ME had dreamed about in The Everest, but that didn’t alter the immense pride we have in our super mare after she battled away for her share of the $20m in the world’s richest Turf race. Mother Nature had smiled upon her at the first two races of the preparation as I AM ME was delivered a firm deck and showed what she can do when on top of the ground. Alas, it would not be that way on Saturday, as Mother Nature chose to deliver a track that was a lot wetter than anticipated helping horses drawn out and racing 5-6 deep in the home straight, and most importantly those who could handle give in the ground.

Six-year-old mare I Am Me, which was reported to have blood present in one nostril after competing at the Rosehill Gardens barrier trials on Friday, 4 October 2024, has this morning passed the necessary test in the presence of Racing NSW Stewards and the Chief Veterinary Officer. I Am Me is now cleared to take her place in The TAB Everest on Saturday (19 October) at Royal Randwick.
