Saturday’s magnificent $1 million Australasian Oaks 2000m Gr1 trifecta by THE AUTUMN SUN's daughters Vibrant Sun, Private Legacy & Coco Sun sparked celebrations well beyond the Morphettville track in Adelaide. Arrowfield Stud are justifiably proud of their home-bred superstar colt, now the sire of two Group 1 Oaks winners in a fortnight and now 6 Group 1 performers from his first crop.

There is no stopping the juggernaut that is the Cambridge Stud stallion ALMANZOR (FR) who has produced yet another Stakes Race quinella. This time he played the starring role at Flemington on Anzac Day, siring two new stakes horses with the Winner and Runner-up in the $200,000 VRC St Leger LR (2800m) with his three-year-old daughters AHURIRI and ALMA RISE.

Just five (5) days prior, Arrowfield Studs successful young sire - DUNDEEL sired his 27th Stakes Winner when the Gr3 James Carr Stakes (1400m) was won by KONASANA (3yo Filly), who relished the mud to score by 3.6 lengths. Next up for the hottest young stallion on the Arrowfield roster would be Anzac Day, when on a Good deck at Flemington, DUNDEEL sired his 28th Stakes Winner and his 7th Stakes Winner and 9th Stakes Performer for the season, as his 2YO son EPIMELES was far too strong on the ANZAC Day Stakes.

Group One winner and top-flight sire ALMANZOR (FR) has enjoyed another lucrative season and his 2024 Service Fee has been set at $30,000 + GST. He has so far during the 2023/24 season been represented by: Group 1 Winner Circle Of Fire and additional Stakes Winners Athabascan, Moonlight Magic, Nucleozor, Positivity, Sudbina and Zabmanzor. 6 Yearlings by Almanzor were Sold in Australia between the Magic Millions and Inglis Premier. they Grossed $930,000 on an Average of $155,000 and a Median of $137,500.

Fresh from siring his first Group 1 winner in ATC Australian Oaks winner Autumn Angel, The Autumn Sun has suffered a pelvic injury with Arrowfield Stud hopeful he will make a full recovery before the breeding season starts on September 1. The decision on his availability will be guided by veterinary advice with a focus on his long-term health and well-being. A further update on his progress will be made in due course.

Consistent ALMANZOR (FR) filly MOONLIGHT MAGIC gave boom young shuttle sire his 16th Stakes Winner to go with his 22 Stakes Placegetters from only two and a half crops of racing age, when she broke her maiden status earning a well-deserved Gr3 success in the Trelawney Stud Championship Stakes over 2100m at Ellerslie on Saturday. Konasana a promising daughter of Arrowfield Stud’s successful young sire DUNDEEL, relished the rapidly deteriorating conditions at Randwick on Saturday, when sailing through the muddy surface of the final day of the Sydney Autumn Carnival, to land the $250,000 ATC James H.B. Carr S. 1400m Gr3. Ridden by Regan Bayliss, Konasana sloshed her way to a 3.7 lengths win over the favourite Scarlet Oak, with Hasty Honey a half-neck back in third. Konasana has now won 3 of her eight starts and $243,000 prizemoney.

Dynamic Syndications Ciaron Maher trained 3yo filly UP TO MISCHIEF (Written Tycoon x More Mischievous) has extended her unbeaten record to 3 Wins from 3 Runs with an easy romp around Orange on Friday in a Showcase meeting, when second-up from a spell. She was far too classy for her peers in the Benchmark 66 over 1310m. Selected as the “Best Bet” of the day by The Daily Telegraph’s Shayne O‘Cass, and smashed in betting to start odds-on at $1.90, our Dynamic filly didn’t let her Owners (nor Shayne) down.

CIARON MAHER Racing have done a superb job with our lightly raced 3yo Filly PIGGYBACK (Trapeze Artist x Wowee) and the fabulous filly is a highly promising staying prospect. She was resuming from a spell at Orange on Friday in a Showcase Class 1 over 1410m, facing the starter for just the second time. On a Soft 5 she ran 1:23.61 picking up $15,000 first prize plus $5,625 BOBS Bonus. She had won on debut at Gosford last prep on the 8th December, and was then put away for a possible Brisbane Winter campaign at distances beyond 2000m.
