Gr1 Target Next for Latest and 36th Stakes Winner by PIERRO

The $250,000 Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) went the way of Queen of Dragons (3f Pierro x Entrancing, by Exceed and Excel) in the Trilogy Racing colours. Queen of Dragons was second up from a spell and enjoyed the step out to 1600m to score a strong length victory over Our Gold Hope (Lope De Vega). Queen of Dragons became the 36th Stakes Winner for Golden Slipper winning sire PIERRO.

KINGMAN daughter ZARDOZI Sizzles in Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes

Gr1 Winning Victoria Oaks heroine ZAROZI a daughter of champion sire KINGMAN (GB) claimed Saturday's Group 2 Chandon Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill. Ridden by Tom Marquand for trainer James Cummings, the 3-year-old filly defeated the Snitzel filly Makarena by two lengths, with the Hallowed Crown gelding Kintyre a nose away in third. This was the filly’s third stakes win, and ZARDOZI has advanced her record to six wins and a second from 11 starts with earnings of $1,145,700.

The hours and hours of pedigree work, then multiple saleyard inspections, shortlisting, culling, then the re-inspections and further culling. The week prior it’s been a hard slog, seven days pounding the pavement and then, concluding a final list to be examined by our veterinarian to weed out X-ray issues (many yearlings are rejected here) and poor endoscopic profiles which hinder windflow. THE AUTUMN SUN Daughter Wins Gr2 Kewney

Autumn Angel was strong through the line when adding Saturday’s Gr2 Kewney Stakes (1600m) at Flemington to her resume. Ridden by Mark Zahra the daughter of THE AUTUMN SUN hit the lead at the 300m marker. She looked likely to be swamped in the final stages but was tough to the post defeating Basilinna by a half-neck, with the run of the race and flashing lights on the stablemate Pierro filly Mollynickers who was a head back in third. A special note from this race was the run for third of the stablemate MOLLYNICKERS. That filly had little luck at a vital stage in the straight and was unable to have a fair crack.

Canberra Guineas Winner XIDAKI becomes 49th Stakes Winner for ZOUSTAR

The $165,000 Canberra Guineas (1400m) Listed Race produced a terrific finish as Zoustar gelding XIDAKI proved too strong for favourite Port Lockroy with a neck back in third spot to Thunderlips - another son of Zoustar.
