Widden Stud’s exceptional stallion ZOUSTAR was the star of the show on Day 1 of the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, by providing the top two lots and four of the top six lots on a day where blue chip fillies rose to the fore. Day 1 ended with a gross of $63,975,000, average of $390,091 and median of $300,000. The Day 1 top lot was a Zoustar x Prompt Response filly from Widden Stud, which sold for $2.2m, making her the most expensive yearling sold in the Southern Hemisphere this year so far.

Dynamic Trainer CIARON MAHER and his Warwick Farm based team lead by Johann Gerard-Duboard (Aussie Joh) had presented our dynamic filly UP TO MISCHIEF (3yo Written Tycoon x More Mischievous) for a debut victory at Canberra on 20 October. She was spelled after that win and the filly resumed from a spell on Sunday to Win again remaining undefeated in 2 starts when claiming a 1100m Class 1 at Mudgee

Dynamic Syndications marvellous mare I AM ME (I AM INVINCIBLE x MEFNOODA) was back earning her owners another slice of significant prizemoney when resuming from a spell on Saturday, when she ran third in the Gr1 WFA $1m William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley over 1200m. Our Ciaron Maher trained mare added another $90,000 to her bank account, taking her overall record to 19 starts = 9:3:2 and $2,426,850 in earnings.

Yulong purchased two of the most expensive mares in the world last year paying 2.7million guineas for Via Sistina (by Fastnet Rock) at the Tattersalls Mares Sale and €4,025,000 for Place du Carrousel (by Lope De Vega) at Arqana and they ran the quinella in the $1million ATC Ranvet Stakes Gr1 (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday at their first appearance in Australia whilst yet another Fastnet Rock ran a gallant third in the same event.
