EMBROIDERY a daughter of leading young Japanese Sire ADMIRE MARS became the first filly since Daiwa Scarlet in 2007 to win the Gr1 double - Oka Sho 1600m and Shuka Sho 2000m.
Embroidery has now won four of her past five races.

On Sunday, October 19 at Kyoto Racecourse, Embroidery was sent to the barriers as second favourite and proved superior to win the 30th edition of the Shuka Sho, the final jewel of the Japanese Fillies Triple Crown.
Embroidery, ridden by French jockey Christophe Lemaire, became the first filly since Daiwa Scarlet in 2007 and fourth overall to win the Oka Sho-Shuka Sho double.
Erika Express winner of the 2025 Fairy Stakes (Gr3, 1,600 meters) was sent forward to set the pace by the first turn and stubbornly sustained her lead down the stretch.
But she was caught by the fast-closing eventual winner in the final strides to finish runner-up. Embroidery settled mid-field but was caught wide when stalking race favourite Kamunyak before improving speed to sit behind Erika Express in second spot with 1000m to go. Chasing the pace into the straight still two lengths behind, the Oka Sho victor showed a terrific turn of foot in the last 100 meters. Embroidery powered past the pacesetter in the final strides to clinch the title by half a length. The daughter of Admire Mars completed the 2000m trip in 1:58.30.

Lemaire said after the race. "I had every faith in the filly that she would deliver today since the Oaks didn't suit her distance-wise. She was calm and relaxed in the first half of the race and while the pace slowed down in the backstretch, we were able to advance to a better position.
"It took a while for her engine to get started, but she showed an incredible turn of foot in the last 200 meters and I'm very happy we were able to notch the G1 title today."
After an excellent juvenile season recording two wins and a second in four starts as a 2-year-old during 2024, the Admire Mars filly went on to register two more wins in the Queen Cup (Gr3, 1600m) and the Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas, Gr1, 1600 meters). But found the trip of 2400m beyond her stamina range in the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks, Gr1, 2400m) in May 2025.
On Sunday, this win was trainer Kazutomo Mori second Japan Racing Association Group 1 victory. Whilst French rider Christophe Lemaire registered his 55th JRA Gr1 win. This success was also the jockey’s fourth Gr1 Shuka Sho triumph — the most in JRA history — after victories aboard Deirdre (2017), Almond Eye (2018) and Cervinia (2024).

From the moment this colt arrived, it was abundantly clear he carries something special.

As a son of Admire Mars

and out of the broodmare Banksia a daughter of

Champion Broodmare Sire Redoute’s Choice,

he unites two elite breeding lines combining performance, class, and a powerful female legacy.
Sire: Admire Mars ticks every box a serious buyer looks for:

A three-time Group 1 winner at the highest level, including the NHK Mile Cup (G1) and the Hong Kong Mile (G1)
Champion 2YO Colt in Japan (2018) — undefeated in four juvenile starts
The only 3YO to win the HK Mile (to date)
Impressive start as a sire: In Japan, with his first crop, Admire Mars has already sired

Now dual Group 1 winner Embroidery, of the 1000 Guineas (Oka Sho) and

also siring Namura Clara, a stakes winner from that first crop.

Planet Red is flying the flag here in Australia.
Strong early commercial appeal: First Australian yearlings averaged six times his fee in 2024, including top sales of $300,000.
Beyond raw statistics, buyers, breeders and trainers alike praise his progeny’s temperament, athleticism, and intelligence — traits that often distinguish future champions.
In short: Admire Mars is more than a former racetrack champion — he’s proving himself as a sire capable of stamping class and speed in his progeny.
Dam line & Female Family: Banksia
What elevates our colt further is his dam’s family. Banksia isn’t just another broodmare — she’s on track to become one of those rare “Blue Hen” mares, capable of upgrading any stallion she’s matched with.
Key highlights of Banksia’s credentials:
Dam of 3 to race — and all 3 have won!
Dam of two stakes winners: Bank Maur and Namesake

Bank Maur continues to thrive on the racetrack: his win in the Apache Cat Classic boosted his earnings to $888,000

whilst Namesake also scored a feature victory over 1200m.
Banksia herself was a two-time winner at the 1000m sprint distance,

including a sharp 56.36 win over 1000m. She is a ¾ sister to Foxwedge (Gr1 winner & sire) and related to stakes-performed siblings She’s A Fox and Paulowina (dam of Lilac). Her female family is deeply proven, boasting 43 stakes winners and 14 stakes performers.
This is not merely a pedigree on paper — this is a family that delivers winners.
The Colt: A Vision in the Making

Already in his early education, this colt shows the refinement, balance, and attitude of a future top-class performer.

He carries the perfect blend: the miler speed and class of Admire Mars - merged with a female sprint family that has produced many stakes-winning individuals.
He is being placed in the hands of Australia’s most respected trainer, Ciaron Maher, who will campaign him from Randwick.
The racing plan is ambitious but grounded:
At 2, target autumn juvenile races: Sires’ Produce 1400m & Champagne 1600m
At 3, aim for the Guineas,
At 4, strategic placement in races to gain access to the Doncaster or Epsom
Shares are priced to appeal, and include all costs through registration, insurance, pre-training, breaking in, transport, spelling, etc.
Why This Is an Opportunity You Shouldn’t Miss
1. Dual strength in sire and dam line
Few colts offer both a rising young stallion (Admire Mars) already delivering elite results and a dam line proven to produce quality stakes winners.
2. Early evidence of sire potency
Admire Mars is not an unproven sire — his first crops in both hemispheres have already produced at Gr1 level. That dramatically eliminates many aspects to the breeding equation.
3. Female family that “knows how to win”
Banksia is doing exactly what a top broodmare must — turning her matings into quality winners. Her sons are already racing well as they get older, which suggests her progeny will continue to improve.
4. Value and structure
A 5 % share for $11,550 (incl. GST & all costs to registration), you get exposure to this super looking colt without a big outlay.
