Lot 72, consigned by Taylor Made Sales, was an
American Pharoah filly out of the broodmare
Taylor S, was purchased by Robert and Lawana Low on Monday for
$725,000 taking pole position as the
most expensive yearling by American Pharoah during the Day 1 opening session of the
2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sales.
The dam
Taylor S is a stakes-winning daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, and a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Liam’s Map and to Giant’s Causeway’s Group 3 winner and successful sire son Not This Time in addition to multiple stakes winner Matera. The filly is a half-sister to a winner from one to race out of the mare.
Lot 32 offered by Paramount Sales was an
American Pharoah colt out of Screaming Skylar, which sold to Talla Racing and West Point Thoroughbreds for
$450,000.
The dam of a winner from one to race, Screaming Skylar is a full sister to Group 2 winner Bel Air Beauty.
Bel Air Beauty produced Canadian champion Stacked Deck and stakes performers Valentino Beauty and Designer Ready. In all, six of Screaming Skylar’s siblings have either earned Black-Type or produced runners who did.
Lot 138 was another notable sale offered by Paramount Sales was a
$435,000 filly purchased by
Coolmore’s M.V. Magnier in partnership with Linda Shanahan. The filly was out of
Antonia Autumn a stakes-winning half-sister to three-time champion Gio Ponti and stakes winners Bon Jovi Girl and Fisher Pond.
That was followed by
Lot 142 a $350,000 filly offered by Lane’s End ex
A Star Is Born, that was purchased by G. Watts Humphrey Jr. The filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Fleet Review and out of a full sister to multiple Group 1 winner Rip van Winkle.
Whilst on
Day 2 American Pharoah has three yearlings sell for an
average of $260,000 USD with Lot 300 leading the way. A filly from the unraced
Kateri, she is a half-sister to stakes winner and group 2-placed Souper Sensational and sold for $300,000 USD.
