Newgate Farm stallion DEEP FIELD sire of 183 Individual Winners, produced his
10th Stakes-Winner on Sunday, this time at
Sha Tin when his talented four-year-old
SKY FIELD scored a dominant win in the
Gr3 Premier Cup (1400m).
Without the big budget marketing-hype being spent on this
young gun sire, there is no spin doctor interpretations required for this
“BP” (quiet achiever) in the stallion ranks.
The impressive young
DEEP FIELD from just three crops of racing age, has produced
25 Stakes Horses being 10 Stakes Winners and 15 Stakes Placegetters amongst his
183 Individual Winners.
Sky Field wins the G3 Premier Cup
SKY FIELD trained in HK by
Caspar Fownes and ridden by
Blake Shinn, charged to the line from back in the ruck to beat his
Hong Kong Derby winning stablemate Sky Darci by nearly two lengths.
“I’ve told you how good he is and it was wonderful to see Blake get the result with him. He settled beautifully for Blake last start and again today over an extra furlong he settled really well. In the run I said I know what he can do. The best is yet to come with him, so it’s wonderful,” said Caspar Fownes, who will aim the gelding towards the Hong Kong International races at the end of the year.
Jockey Blake Shinn was impressed with Sky Field.
“Caspar just emphasised to switch the horse off and use his best asset, which is his turn of foot. The horse did everything right,” Shinn said.
“When I produced him, he picked them up effortlessly and ran right through the line. It’s great because we’ve all believed in this horse’s ability and he stood up and beat a quality field. It’s just fantastic to win a Group race here in Hong Kong.
“Even though he didn’t win a Group 1 today, I’m sure next preparation, he’s only going to flourish and become a really big force in the coming season.”
A
$175,000 NZB Karaka purchase,
Sky Field has the overall record of
5 wins and 5 placings from 14 starts.
DEEP FIELD has become an
instant fan favourite with the Hong Kong racing public due to the success of his progeny.
DEEP FIELD as a sire
The young sire has produced 11 winners in HK to date, 9 Winners have come this season.
DEEP FIELD in his racing days
DEEP FIELD based upon his self-made racetrack successes, has seen a service fee increase this year up to $88,000 (up from $55,000 in 2020, $44,000 in 2019, $22,000 in 2018).
As at 20 June, DEEP FIELD from just 3 crops of racing age, has sired 25 Black Type Horses, from 293 progeny to race with 183 winners (62.0%), 10 Stakes Winners, 15 Stakes Placegetters and earnings of over $21 million.

The fact that our filly is by DEEP FIELD the same sire of COSMIC FORCE and our filly is from a winning 1/2 sister to COSMIC FORCE that means that she is genetically a 3/4 sister to COSMIC FORCE.
COSMIC FORCE as a sire at stud
This ensures not only the
genetic capacity to be a
speedy, early coming individual, it also ensures she will have
excellent residual value upon racetrack retirement.
This is the
closest we can deliver to
risk-free racing, where the
opportunities are so high, risks are so low, and residual should be strong.
It has proven a
masterstroke to give our filly to Annabel Neasham because the excellent young horsewoman has
excelled with training her 2yo’s.
ANNABEL NEASHAM - Trainer
We only have
a couple of 5% shares remaining at $5,775 per 5% Share.
We have
an opportunity if it assists any
existing Dynamic Syndications Owner – we could do a
one (1) x 2.5% Share at $2,887.50.
