Whilst he might not be the sire’s most talented of offspring to ever race,
ABSURDE
is certainly the son that has won out over the longest trips, with his wins getting out to
4000m!
In 2023,
Absurde finished seventh in the Melbourne Cup,
and his France based trainer
Willie Mullins
, revealed
Absurde
may have booked his ticket back to Australia for a
second tilt at the Melbourne Cup
, following a strong win in the
Listed Chester Stakes 1m 6½f
(
2900m
).
Ridden by Daniel Tudhope, he surged clear to win by a length and a quarter, taking
Absurde’s
overall record to
six wins and eight placings from 21 starts. Incredibly, this victory his first in a Black Type race.
The
six-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding
also won at the
Cheltenham Jumping Festival
earlier this year and was a
last start fourth (4th) in the Group 3 Irish St Leger Trial.
Absurde
and his faithful strapper Emilie Seigle were media favourites in Melbourne last year and she was by his side for this victory as well.
ASURDE after winning the EBOR for trainer Willie Mullins and rider Frankie Dettori
Bred by Wertheimer Et Frere, Absure was initially raced in France by the Wertheimers before he was offered in the Arqana Deauville Summer Mixed Sale in 2022 where he was bought by PB Bloodstock/ H Kirk / Willie Mullins for
€260,000
.
He is the best of five winners from stakes-placed Singspiel mare Incroyable from the family of Group 1 winner Juvenia.
Champion Sire
FASTNET ROCK
is enjoying a well-earned retirement at Coolmore Stud,
aged 23
.
As a Sire
FASTNET ROCK
was retired in 2023
after becoming
infertile
due to advanced age.
There are only a handful of young horses remaining to represent
FASTNET ROCK
into the future.
FASTNET ROCK - Champion Australian Sire & Champion Broodmare Sire
Standing at a
Service Fee of
$165,000
for his final two crops, he has just a small crop of
20
live now turned 2yo’s
in Australia (
11
colts /
9
fillies
) and his final crop yearlings have just
10
live foals (
5
colts /
5
fillies)
in Australia.
As the Sire with
194 Stakes Winners
which includes
43
Gr1 winners,
opportunities are
now
very
limited
to be involved with a youngster by super sire -
FASTNET ROCK.
Our Racing industry is a
results driven
business, and every aspect is dependent upon statistical data.
Understanding data
and using it to your advantage is the
foundation of success.
FASTNET ROCK is the
epitome of a
Champion Sire
. The results below prove the point:

As an Owner
, or at least as a potential Owner, you always want to ( and should) give yourself the
maximum opportunity of racetrack success,
and
FASTNET ROCK
is at the
pinnacle of Stallions who uplift their progeny.
With Colts
running just on
3
out of every
4
to race being winners
and
one in every
4.9
earning black type
, and
one in every
7.8
being a Stakes Winner
then opportunities to achieve success are
statistically very high.
Dynamic Syndications
