Just 5 days ago JUSTIFY produced his third 2yo winner in Australia and his second stakes winner when LEGACIES won the ANZAC Day Stakes LR.
On Wednesday on Day 2 of the Warrnambool carnival, another JUSTIFY took his tally to 4 winners when a debutant named SCENTIFY stole a last stride win when taking out Race 1 Warrnambool City Volkswagen 2YO Open Handicap 1200m for the juggernaut CIARON MAHER RACING STABLES.
On a Heavy 10 surface, SCENTIFY was taken back to last 6 lengths off the leaders mid-race before beginning to track up from the 400m. 4 and 5 deep around the turn into the straight, and carrying 59.0kg top weight, SCENTIFY stride by stride began to reel in the leaders. At the 100m he was eyeballing the leader, but it took 1199m to gain the ascendance in a display of true grit to claim victory.
Trainer CIARON MAHER was trackside and interviewed post-race saying: “Super win, he put the writing on the wall with his last trial, that track was affected, not as affected as this. I said to Benny (Ben Allen – jockey) when I was legging him up, he is a nice horse, I think he’s probably six months away, but the win was great. Good strong racing, and this horse has still got a lot in front of him, but to do that today was a super win and a great job by the team, and Benny Allen is doing a great job as well. How good is the ‘bool!”
Ciaron Maher loves the Justify progeny as much as we do.
That’s why we hunted together at the Magic Millions yearling sale this year to buy the JUSTIFY ex ORONTES (Redoute’s Choice) Chestnut Colt from Coolmore Stud for $200,000 + GST. Out Colt is bred on the same JUSTIFY over DANEHILL Line Mares.
SCENTIFY was the 10th individual runner in Australia for First Crop Sire JUSTIFY (USA) and is his 4th Individual winner.
LEARNING TO FLY; LEGACIES; CALIFORNIAN and SCENTIFY.
SCENTIFY (Justify ex Fine Scent by All Too Hard) is bred on the successful JUSTIFY over DANEHILL Line Cross which has produced 3 of his 4 winners to date: LEARNING TO FLY; LEGACIES & SCENTIFY.
JUSTIFY saw his second crop of yearlings head to the sale this year and they proved very popular at those sales.
He averaged $369,000 at Magic Millions and $344,000 at Inglis Easter, so the professionals are clearly happy with what they have seen so far, with high hopes for their 3yo classic season to come.
JUSTIFY was UNBEATEN on the racetrack now he's Unbeatable as a Australia's Best First Season Sire
JUSTIFY has an unassailable Premiership lead for the title of Champion Australian First Season Sire
With earnings of $1,758,625, JUSTIFY (10 rnrs: 4 Wnrs: 2 SW) has a commanding $799,055 lead over second placed Harry Angel (16 rnrs: 4 Wnrs: 3 SW)
JUSTIFY is dominating in both hemispheres so Coolmore have had a change of heart and elected to shuttle him back to Australia in 2023, after he was considered "too valuable to risk" being shuttled in 2022.
In Both Hemispheres JUSTIFY has 3yo’s in the North and 2yo’s in the South. Overall stats-

JUSTIFY only had 96 live foals in his first crop (current 2yo’s).
Whilst his second crop (current yearlings) there were 82 live foals. From this crop only 21 of these were Sold through the yearling sales this year.
From his third crop (2022 foals) in Australia, there are only 59 live foals on the ground.
This is the current third crop that will be next year’s yearlings.
After the standard number of retention's by their breeders, then losses
through accident, injury or death, then those considered unsellable
progeny due to being unsuitably conformed individuals and finally, there
will be those that will ultimately fail x-rays or endoscopic
evaluations as yearlings, it therefore, can be fairly concluded there
will only be about 20 yearlings maximum to be offered in Australia by this super sire next year during the 2024 yearling sales.
That will be followed by zero in 2025 yearling sales because the sire didn’t cover in Australia in 2022.
So, it won’t be until 2026 before a sizable foal crop will be available in the yearling sales, coming from this 2023 breeding season.
Simple supply and demand scarcity of this super sire’s progeny
will drive prices upwards, equally with the performances of his talented
progeny because the professional buyers are now aware of the ability
they possess as seen in the yearling sale ring this season.
JUSTIFY has made his mark with outstanding two-year-old filly Learning to Fly dominating the 2yo Fillies division before unfortunately losing her rider in the Golden Slipper.
JUSTIFY has another exciting filly named Legacies, who won easily on debut and won the Listed ANZAC Day Stakes.
Justify is also the sire of Californian who has had 3 starts: 1-1-1.
Now SCENTIFY has added his name to the growing winners tally.
None amongst the professional buyers in our industry truly believed JUSTIFY could sire precocious 2yo’s as they would need age and distance, but this sire is a freak,
and the progeny are running as 2yo’s in both hemispheres. So, we can
only sit back and ponder just how good his progeny could become when
they turn 3yo’s and all the classic races between 1600m to 2400m are
laid out in front of them.

From the Coolmore Draft, DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS & CIARON MAHER purchased
JUSTIFY ex ORONTES yearling Colt with CIARON MAHER Racing
(Shares Available)
From the statistical information available, its easy to read why Dynamic Syndications & CIARON MAHER have such a huge opinion about JUSTIFY and we strongly urge our Owners and Followers to become involved in the right yearlings by this sensational sire.
That’s why we purchased the Chestnut Colt by JUSTIFY ex ORONTES (By Redoute’s Choice – Danehill) at the Magic Millions.
Our homework rated the colt we purchased, genetically the leading yearling by the sire at the Magic Millions.
We loved him on type and so did Ciaron Maher.
So instead of bidding against each other, we joined forces in partnership with this colt.
On what he has displayed to date, it appears a masterstroke.
The planet’s have aligned with this colt and our Dynamic/Ciaron Maher Team.
Don’t miss out on this colt because as reported above, the scarcity of
his stock, and the ability they are showing, they will continue to drive
up in value. We are just glad we purchased this Colt at the Magic
Millions because we would have needed to pay a lot more for him if he
was sold at Easter.
