All Too Hard added a
fifth (5th) winner to his tally when
Sky Lake opened her account at Cranbourne on Friday evening.
ALL TOO HARD
The Mick Price trained filly enjoyed the firm footing and a step up to 1300 metres to win by more than a length at her third start.
A $100,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase, Sky Lake is a half-sister to stakes-placed Frill Seeking and is the second winner from Group 3 winner Vietnam.
Stable jockey Mick Dee was delighted after steering Sky Lake clear of a competitive field.
The
All Too Hard filly sat at the girth of the leader Leicester Rocket before surging past the front-runner approaching the home turn. After sprinting to three-length lead,
Sky Lake had the luxury of being allowed to ease down in the final stages of the 1300m event.
SKY LAKE
“She had to do a bit of work early but I gave her a breather down the back,” jockey Michael Dee said.
“Then she towed me into the race and carted me all the way to the line!”
“She will mature with more experience and this win will help her confidence,” Dee stated.
“There are definitely better wins ahead.”
As expected by industry professionals, the progeny of
Champion Australian 3yo All Too Hard are coming to the fore at the back-end of their first 2yo season.
