It has been
three (3) new Stakes Winners in five (5) days for sensational racehorse and now,
highly successful young sire
AMERICAN PHAROAH and from his
126 Winners to date he has produced
34 Black Type horses – that’s a
staggering 27% Black Type horses to Winners, with
19 (15%) Stakes Winners and 15 Stakes Placegetters (12%), whilst he is at
13% Black Type horses to Runners.
AMERICAN PHAROAH
27% Black Type performers to Winners and 13% Black Type horses to Runners is a freakish statistic and is unheard of from any young sire.
Whilst it is up to him to keep producing, this has
AMERICAN PHAROAH tracking towards becoming one of the
truly elite sires in the world.
American Pharoah (USA), shuttles back to Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500.
WILLOW Wins Oaks Trial for American Pharoah is 18th Stakes Winner
WILLOW (3f American Pharoah x Peeping Fawn, by Danehill) secured her
first stakes victory with a win in the Listed Naas Oaks Trial on Wednesday, just two and a half weeks after running in the Group 1 Cazoo Epsom Oaks.
Racing over 1¼ miles (2000m) at
Naas in Ireland, Willow was positioned in second behind stablemate April Showers with that Galileo filly opening up on the field. As they entered the final three furlongs, Willow made her move and quickly gathered up the long-time leader.
April Showers wasn’t going to give up easily though, and Willow had to battle with that one for a few furlongs before starting to pull away. As she left April Showers behind, eventual runner-up La Petite Coco attempted to engage her, but Willow was in full gear and kept that one at bay by half a length at the line.
WILLOW
The filly was bred by Coolmore and is trained by Aidan O’Brien.
This was her second black-type result after a stakes placed third in a Group 3 last month.
Jockey Seamie Heffernan told Irishracing.com
“She won nicely. We thought she was a real good filly at the start of the year and it's nice to win a nice race with her and hopefully she can progress. She arrived (on the scene) late last year so possibly she is going to arrive and be good late this year.”
Willow is the second stakes winner for her champion Dam Peeping Fawn alongside her Chesham Stakes and multiple Group 1 placed half-sister September. Peeping Fawn is also the dam of Group 2 placed Sir John Hawkins and grand-dam of stakes winner Alzire among three performers out of her Galileo daughter Purely Priceless.
Willow’s second dam is the Group 1-placed Maryinsky, who is also the dam of Group 1 winner Thewayyouare.
Maryinsky is also out of dual Group 1 winner and blue hen broodmare Blush With Pride, making the Sadler’s Wells mare a half-sister to the great broodmare Better Than Honour.
WILLOW became the second stakes winner for her sire AMERICAN PHAROAH in four days after FI FI PHAROAH won the Melair Stakes at Santa Anita on Saturday.
FI FI PHAROAH
KING OF MIAMI Becomes 19th Stakes Winner and Second on Day for AMERICAN PHAROAH.
KING OF MIAMI (3g American Pharoah x Bombo Genesis, by Afleet Alex) gave
AMERICAN PHAROAH his second stakes winner in 12 hours on Wednesday, when he scored a tough win in the
Listed Mystic Lake Derby at Canterbury Park USA.
KING OF MIAMI
Racing over a mile on the turf, King Of Miami was kept on the rail trailing the leaders for the first 1200m of the race. His rider angled a few horses wide on the turn to make up ground and the gelding made a late run to get in front in the final 100m and found the line in a three-way photo finish.
The 3-year-old has now finished in the top two in three of his five starts for over $158,000 in earnings.
The 3yo is one of two (2) American Pharoah runners for the Dam Bombo Genesis, whose 2yo filly Dream Fly finished second on debut at Keeneland in April.
A winning mare, Bombo Genesis is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and multiple Group 1 placed Bound For Nowhere and stakes-placed Brinkley, with that mare also the Dam of stakes-placed Bobby Brinkley.
King Of Miami’s second dam is a half-sister to champion Midnight Lute and multiple Group 2 placed Captain Cherokee among four stakes performing siblings.
King Of Miami is the third Stakes Winner in five (5) days for American Pharoah after Willow won an Oaks trail earlier on Wednesday in Ireland and Fi Fi Pharoah won a Santa Anita stakes on Saturday.

GAI WATERHOUSE, DEAN & FIONA WATT - DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS , ADRIAN BOT
Our AMERICAN PHAROAH x LISSON GROVE Colt is under the care of champion trainer
GAI WATERHOUSE and ADRIAN BOTT.
AMERICAN PHAROAH as a sire is unlikely to produce you a
speedy squib 2yo, as they are not what his genetics is about.
He will produce a horse to excel at distances between
1600m – 2000m and further as 3yo’s and older horses.
However, what we are very pleased to see developing in the Northern Hemisphere, with his turf horses is that speed mares are giving his progeny the much-needed turn of foot, required for a sire to be successful.
LISSON GROVE is a DEHERE mare.
DEHERE was a
Gr1 winner at 1600m and an elite sire with over
80 stakes winners, and he imparts
miler genetics into this female line, whilst
LISSON GROVE herself was a
speed race filly and offers a
turn of foot capacity and the prospect of a more precocious type as an early Spring 3yo.
As a broodmare LISSON GROVE is doing the job with 5 Named Foals: 4 to Race: 3 Winners & 1 Placed
Whilst, there are never any guarantees in the racing game, we would rather have statistics align.
Our COLT who is a
sensational sort, with a
Champion trainer, out of a
Stakes Winning 2yo who herself was a daughter of a
super sire.
OUR COLT is by a sire producing
sensational statistical data. As the saying goes
“Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics.”
Facts are facts -
AMERICAN PHARAOH is producing
Black Type horses at an
elite strike rate whilst
OUR COLT is arguably the
BEST-BRED SON of the sire in the
Southern Hemisphere by genetic balance.
Add in the fact he has
broken-in like a Ferrari rather than a
clapped-out VW adds a further tick to say
OUR COLT has the lot.
The
professional buyers love the
AMERICAN PHAROAH progeny. In 2021, he had
45 yearlings sell for an
