There is little doubt that top notch sprinter ATOMIC FORCE loves to travel and the way the horse returned to Darren Smith’s Newcastle stable early this morning after spending the last month at Caulfield is truly exciting for his trainer and connections.
Despite a 14 hour trip leaving Caulfield at 5:00pm and arriving at Newcastle at 7:00am the picture taken at 7:30am this morning reveals a happy, healthy horse dappled up in his coat and looking a ball of muscle.
Atomic Force has been brought back to contest the Concorde Stakes Gr3 1100m SW&P on 8 September at Warwick Farm then onto The Shorts Gr2 1200m SW&P at Randwick on 22/9 and then onto the Premiere Stakes Gr2 1200m WFA at Randwick on 6/10.
After these 3 races he will return to Melbourne for the Gr1 Manikato WFA 1200m and the Gr1 Patinack 1200m WFA.
He will certainly appreciate the warmer weather and access to Darren’s purpose built training facilities where he will be out in a small paddock during the day. He hasn’t had the opportunity to do that this preparation with the very wet weather in the Hunter region during winter. However with the recent dry spell, the paddocks are lush and the sun is warming up and Atomic Force will continue to thrive.
