Talented American Pharoah (USA) colt TIJUANA made it
back to back wins in as many starts when he scored a dashing victory in the
VRC ANZAC Day Stakes Listed Race over 1400m for 2yo’s as top weight so carried the special
ANZAC colours.
Tijuana wins the Listed Anzac Day Stakes
TIJUANA has become the 27th individual stakes-winner worldwide alongside another
21 stakes placegetters for Coolmore Stud’s USA Triple Crown Winner and
World Champion racehorse,
Champion First and Second season sire in the USA -
AMERICAN PHAROAH who has produced
228 Winners to date.
Importantly
TIJUANA is his
third stakes winner, along with another
two stakes placegetters in
Australia, joining
Head of State and Pretty Amazing plus stakes-placed
Mrs American and Sword Point.
AMERICAN PHAROAH’s oldest in Australia are just 3yo’s.
So, for a stallion whose progeny are expected to be
older horses, over middle-distance trips, he is doing a
tremendous job in producing precocious youngsters and the future is looking bright.
To date his oldest progeny are just 4yo’s in the Northern Hemisphere and 3yo’s in the Southern Hemisphere.
They are performing best in the distance range of
1601m - 1800m where he has sired
75 Individual Winners of 99 race wins and 37 have been placed. At this trip he has sired
9 Individual Stakes Winners (33.3%) who have won 15 Stakes Races.
This is a distance his Australian progeny with the oldest being 3yo’s have not had a lot of opportunity to reach as most of the races available have been sprint races for our younger horses.
In Australia, AMERICAN PHAROAH is doing the job and has produced 24 Individual Winners of 36 races and 65 placings. He has 3 Stakes Winners and 2 Stakes Placed with earnings of $1,165,793.
TIJUANA is his 4th Individual 2yo Winner whilst there have been 21 Individual 3yo Winners.
Trained by the
Lindsay Park Brothers Team
Ben and JD Hayes, Tijuana was an
easy winner at Pakenham on debut on March 31 and faced a steep class rise going straight into a Black Type contest at just his second start.
He proved more than able for the challenge, working forward from an inside draw to race on the lead and kicked well clear down the running.
Tijuana was strong to the line and won by three-quarters of a length and has now won over $100,000 in prizemoney.
“To buy a horse like this and win a stakes race at your second start and win like that is very exciting,” said Ben Hayes.
“I was impressed with his manners today, first up he was a little bit colty, but today he knew what he was doing and had the race won a long way from home.”
Ben Hayes will allow the dust to settle before deciding on the immediate future for Tijuana with Queensland options to be considered as well as his spring potential.
Tijuana is a great looking colt with a bright future
A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase by Lindsay Park Racing, Tijuana is a half-brother to stakes-placed Mexican Tycoon and is the fourth winner from Champion Singapore 2YO Mexican Rose.
Tijuana is sadly the last living foal from Mexican Rose, who died in 2020.
Dynamic Syndications have two American Pharoah’s in work and the wraps on both are super.
1) Our
3yo filly AFRICAN DAISY is set to resume from a spell for
Annabel Neesham and we simply can’t be happier with the way our filly has trialled in the lead up to her return to the track. Last preparation she only had 3 race starts when running 6th with flashing lights over a short 1300m at Scone, then second up 1550m she was super when
runner-up at Canterbury before a
fourth at Canterbury over 1550m and we tipped her out to give her a little time.
She is so much bigger and stronger this time in and
she appears she is well above average.
2) We have a
2yo colt named AUSSIE PHAROAH (ex Lisson Grove by Dehere) with Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.
The feedback we have been getting is that he is way above average as well but typical of the sire will be best as a Spring 3yo.
This year we went
back into the market this year at the yearling sales and
purchased two more by this highly promising sire.
The first we purchased was a
fabulous filly from the mare
IN TIMES OF WAR who is the daughter of sensational race filly
Military Rose who
won 6 races including the Magic Millions and was the
second top filly of her generation. This filly is in the care of the most inform stable in Australia –
CIARON MAHER RACING.

SECONDLY - OUR AMERICAN PHAROAH COLT ~
Whilst the other AMERICAN PHAROAH is a son of the dual Stakes Winning Lonhro mare WAR HEROINE.
He is such a lovely colt and we are so happy with him that we gave him to our young gun trainer JASON DEAMER at Newcastle.
Jason does such a terrific job
with Dynamic Syndications horses we know he deserved access to top
quality yearlings instead of just our tried horses.
He is arguably the BEST VALUED COLT we have purchased in 2022 being ~
A son of a WORLD CHAMPION RACEHORSE and CHAMPION FIRST & SECOND SEASON SIRE
From a DUAL STAKES WINNING DAUGHTER OF CHAMPION SIRE LONHRO
Whilst the Second Dam is ALSO a STAKES WINNER
