60 Dynamic Syndications Racing Season Wins achieved today thanks to a Tip Top training effort by
young gun Scone based trainer WILLIAM FREEDMAN with our galloper
BAXTER resulted in our
Dynamic Duo visiting the
Winner’s Circle at Taree on Monday afternoon delivering a
well-deserved WIN for Horse and Connections in Race 3 the
XXXX Maiden Plate 1250m.
BAXTER breaks through for tough win
BAXTER defeated Mister Ripley by
0.28 length with third placed Dreamawin
0.84 length behind
BAXTER in third spot.
BAXTER picked up $11,200 Winners Cheque + BOBS Bonus of $5,625 = $16,825
It was a special win for many reasons as it delivered various milestones.
WILL FREEDMAN
For
WILLIAM FREEDMAN, a young bloke who is in his first year of training out on his own, he started to train at Scone having his first runner in August at the beginning of this current racing season, today it was his
20th Race Win he has now trained. That goes along with his
25 placegetters from his
130 runners to date.
Will is training at a Strike Rate of 15.4% Winners:Runners with his 20 Wins from 130 starters.
Dynamic Syndications are extremely proud to support
Will on his journey and be team members of the stable.
Further we are
chuffed to have supplied Will with his
first winner TIME TO DAZZLE along with his
10th Win and now, his
20th Win.
Four (4) of Will Freedman’s 20 Wins have been for Dynamic Syndications.
Dynamic Milestone - 60 Season Wins
Whilst we have
achieved our own
Dynamic Syndications personal milestone, as
BAXTER became our
60th Race Win for this 2020/21 Racing Season.
BAXTER has been a real team effort and a real family affair in achieving the first of what we anticipate will be many wins for a horse that promises to go through his grades, especially when the trip gets out to a mile or further.
Alysha Collett on BAXTER
The win by
BAXTER was helped by a top-quality ride by inform jockey
Alysha Collett who could win on a rocking horse at the moment with how well she is riding, her judgement is terrific.
BAXTER has shown us in his trackwork he wants 1600m and further, so resuming here over 1250m on a Heavy 8 surface and drawing 9 of 10 runners was always going to be a difficult assignment. We anticipated the speedsters would run him off his legs early and he could run out of gas trying to work across and chase.
This was still the best option, a nice race to resume in as a Maiden, after his first preparation that showed us he had ability. In that first preparation,
BAXTER was trained by Will Freedman’s dad
Richard Freedman at Rosehill. Richard advised our owners
BAXTER could win races but the horse should be sent to Will to train where the costs are less expensive, and the horse would thrive in a more laid back, rural environment.
After a spell, Team Dynamic sent the horse to Will to train for us.
BAXTER had only the one easy trial on 16 June over 900m at Scone where he ran an encouraging 0.3 length 2nd to the handy Kris Less galloper Triple Ace.
Will has kept the work up to our horse who is a big unit, with a chest and belly more on the
“Buddha” style of physique than a greyhound, to start off the campaign.
Naturally we believed the distance would be short of his best, but the Heavy track would make it feel more like 1400m than 1250m.
Jockey Alysha Collett was asked to snag back from the start, and let the speed go and just tack on at the tail and make steady ground from the 600m.
Alysha gave BAXTER a wonderful ride. Having jumped away on terms, the
Dynamic Duo just relaxed and drifted back in the run, and after the field had run the first furlong,
BAXTER was back at the tail. They were not going very hard up front, which looked a concern as that would make it harder to run down the leaders.
RETURNING TO SCALE
From the 600m to the turn, Alysha gave
BAXTER a slap and some rein and the horse improved between runners to be one pair back as the field straightened for the run home. Alysha then angled out 4 deep to be in clear space as they passed the 300m and at this point, the horse was some 3 lengths off the leader.
Getting into his rhythm and starting to extend, his stride lengthened and surely, stride by stride, he ate into the leader’s margin. In a four-way battle at the 100m
BAXTER was still
1.5 lengths off the leader but Alysha dug deep and fought to the line, gaining the lead at the 30m and going on to record a
widening 0.28 length win despite the gas tank running on fumes.
WINNERS STALL
Great job by BAXTER, ALYSHA COLLETT, WILLIAM FREEDMAN, his partner
RACHEL HUNT who does most of the riding at trackwork and the TLC care for the horse. Also well done to
ADAM WATT at Dynamic for organising the horse to head to Will in the first instance, and then to find the right race to resume in for the preparation.
Will was interviewed post-race saying:
"I have to give credit to Alysha that was a fantastic ride. She went back, threaded her way through the field, uninterrupted run, the run won the race. He’s a horse that’s got some ability, and when he gets over further and can relax, he can be a little bit handier from a good gate, he should go through the grades nicely, I think.
"When he was second over 1500m last preparation at Muswellbrook, there were 5 winners come out of the race, so he’s got ability.
Will then added (with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek): "That’s giving my old man a bit of credit!
I would like to think I have improved it!
No, no, the horse has been well educated and that makes it easy."
WILL FREEDMAN being interviewed
After the race, Will Freedman sent out on his Twitter account: "I’m thrilled that Dynamic gave me my first win and also our first season goal of 20 Wins. They are great people and deserve this win. Special thanks to Rachel Hunt, she never lost faith in BAXTER, and she deserves the credit too. Well done team we got to 20, dinner on me!"
