The Dynamic Syndications 5yo Mare CONSTANZIA by PIERRO from MAFIA MISS, returned from a spell in
fine style with
a super Win at Muswellbrook on Friday afternoon 27 November, when thanks to a magnificent ride by our
“go-to” rider
Christian Reith, the
Dynamic Duo took out Race 8, the Wallerawang Engineering Benchmark 66 Handicap over 1280m in a slick 1:15.24 coming home in a sizzling 34.16 secs.
CONSTANZIA defeated Free Rider by a widening 0.76 lengths on the line, with Witchety Grub back in third placed, 4.2 lengths from the winner.
A keen betting race with the top four in the market ranging from $5.00 - $6.00 it was an interesting run race with these top four scooting out to the lead and nothing else could match them.
As the gates flung back,
CONSTANZIA was brilliantly away jumping half a length clear after the field had run 50m.
Pressure started to come across when 3 horses attacked for the lead with Denman Unlimited displaying intent to lead and coming across with it were Free Rider and Witchety Grub was in the centre of them, keeping Free Rider 3 deep.
Christian summed things up brilliantly, grabbing immediate hold of
CONSTANZIA allowing these other three to keep in their own speed battle, whilst Christian balanced up two lengths off the back of these runners, getting a lovely trail.
The field stayed in this position until the point of the home turn where Christian asked our mare to push up on the back of 5yo gelding Free Rider as Denman Unlimited was out of gas and this placed Witchety Grub to
CONSTANZIA’s inside and into a pocket.
Free Rider gave a kick and went for home. At the 200m he was still two lengths in front.
CONSTANZIA was asked to give chase and rallied quickly to be at the leader’s girth as they passed the 100m point.
Then stride-by-stride she wore down Free Rider who could not raise another effort.
With 50m to go
CONSTANZIA had hit the front and over the final few metres pulled away to a widening 0.76 length win.
The race had been judged to perfection by Christian and
CONSTANZIA, who had looked a treat in the pre-race parade, was too classy.
CONSTANZIA had been a work in progress in her early career.
Starting off at Randwick for one run, she was sent to be trained at Warwick Farm. However, the mare just didn’t respond to the sausage factory environment of big city stables.
It was decided to send her to our provincial,
trainer JASON DEAMER at Newcastle who has just 14 boxes and is a
patient, hands-on trainer.
Jason still rides his own trackwork and
CONSTANZIA has responded to his training environment.
This event was
CONSTANZIA’s 11th overall race start however it was her
9th start under Jason’s care.
For Jason she has recorded
5 wins and 2 thirds. She has a versatile record, winning from
1280m to 1400m under conditions of
Good: 6:3-0-1, Soft: 4:2-0-0 and Heavy: 1:0-0-1.
It’s proved to be a
Dynamic Masterstroke to send the mare to
Jason Deamer who is doing a fantastic job for our
Dynamic Syndications Owners.
