Ciaron Maher Racing smash through $50m Prizemoney Earnings for 23-24 Season

On Wednesday at Warwick Farm when Elsie May won, Champion Trainer Ciaron Maher smashed the magical $50 million prizemoney barrier for the season.

Ciaron Maher started the day with stable earnings of $49,893,680 and wins with Linwood at Warwick Farm, followed by Fabrice at Sandown put the trainer within reach of the milestone.

Then Elsie May found the line winning the TAB Handicap (2130m) taking the Ciaron Maher Racing Stable PAST the $50 million marker.

This caps an extraordinary season for Ciaron Maher Racing with the trainer set to retain his Australian, Melbourne and Victorian Training Premierships for most Wins in a season.

During 2023-24 they also prepared 10 Group 1 winners including Pride Of Jenni's three majors culminating with her spectacular Queen Elizabeth Stakes triumph at Royal Randwick during The Championships, plus Bella Nipotina's two wins in the Doomben 10,000 and Tatt's Tiara to close out the season. Not to forget the wonderful job the stable did with our Dynamic Syndications mare I AM ME who won the $2m Sydney Stakes on Everest Day.

Maher becomes only the second trainer in Australian racing history to prepare the winners of at least $50 million prizemoney in a season.

He was only 11 days behind Sydney based trainer Chris Waller in achieving the $50 million mark. Waller reached that milestone when Cigar Flick won at Eagle Farm on 29 June.

Ciaron Maher is 41 Wins in front of Waller from 19 less runners and has a superior strike rate of 15.4% over Waller 13.3%.

To put these figures further into perspective between the two juggernauts of Maher and Waller, it can’t be ignored how far superior Ciaron Maher Racing is to Waller across Australia until the data is analysed, considered, and the spotlight is shone on the fact that 70 of Chris Waller’s wins have come from 504 runners (13.90%) in the significantly weaker Queensland jurisdiction which Ciaron Maher Racing does not have a permanent presence in.

Maher’s stable only have hit and run exposures to Queensland racing.

It’s the strength of the Ciaron Maher Racing Stable in Sydney that also highlights how well the stable is functioning overall.

The team’s Warwick Farm base has significantly less boxes than all their major peers, yet they are currently in third position on the premiership table to Waller and Gai & Adrian.

Whilst Waller has trained 141 Winners in Sydney, he has also started 1,052 runners (13.4%).

Maher has trained 58 Winners from only 439 runners (13.2%). So, Waller who is based in Sydney has 83 extra wins but has started 613 more runners to achieve those results.

Now compare the Sydney results with those of Melbourne the other significant jurisdiction.

Therefore with 20 days in the current season remaining, across all important Key Performance Indicators, the CIARON MAHER Racing Stables are tracking well to be Crowned PREMIER TRAINERS by WINNERS across AUSTRALIA in 2023-24 and they have also smashed through the $50 million in prizemoney earnings.

They appear certain to be again Crowned the PREMIER TRAINER in MELBOURNE and in VICTORIA whilst they will finish third on the Sydney Metro Trainers Premiership.

Ciaron is on hand to see our horse in work, at trials and racedays. Owners get to speak with and hear from Ciaron at the track, and he regularly puts out videos pre and post-race, after barrier trials and trackwork, so Our Dynamic Owners know that they are acknowledged and appreciated, unlike other operations where the trainer employs people to look after client liaison and raceday affairs.

Team Dynamic also delivered Ciaron Maher Racing with three important stable milestones this season.

Our Dynamic horses recorded the stables 100th Metropolitan Winner in Melbourne, their 50th Metropolitan Winner in Sydney, and 100th Winner in NSW.
