DUGGAN Delivers for Dynamic Deamer as JACK'S BACK in WINNERS CIRCLE 8th Time

On a dry track he is a much better galloper and got conditions to suit when our
7yo Grey marvel
JACK DUGGAN (USA)
trained by
great mate and vital team member
JASON DEAMER
at Newcastle
, graced the
Winner’s Circle
yet again, making it
8
visits in
39
starts.
This time he was at the Gosford Provincial meeting which was transferred to Scone on Thursday afternoon.
JACK DUGGAN
recorded his
eight (8th)
victory,
claiming Race 2, the Kia Ora Benchmark 64 2200m.
Ridden by Adam Hyeronimus,
and asked to lump 61.0 kgs top weight,
our gallant grey
despite being on a quick back-up from the previous Friday, was too classy for his peers and carried the big weight effortlessly.
JACK DUGGAN
(61.0kgs) ($3.40, 2nd fav)
Adam Hyeronimus
defeated Up And Comer (55.5kgs) ($8.0) by 1.79 lengths, with Field Legend (58.0kgs) ($81) 3.33 lengths third.
JACK DUGGAN too good over 2200m
He ran 2:17.86 coming home in 36.08 secs picking up
$20,550
first prize cheque.
Dynamic Syndications
purchased
JACK DUGGAN (USA)
from the Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale at Newmarket as a 2yo that had started 3 times for a win.
Since arriving in Australia, he has
started 36 times for 7 wins, 6 placings and $204,195.
Jack Duggan
took a short while to acclimatise to the Southern Hemisphere.
He took
9 races
to break through for his first win in Australia and that was over 1600m.
He was placed third at his eight start here which was his first placing in Australia; and then won at his next start.
From the time he posted his first win here, he has
raced
27
times recording
7
wins and
5
placings and has earned
$204,195.
Whilst he hasn’t broken through in the metropolitan area as yet, he has been
placed twice in town
. This victory was his
fifth win
at provincial grade along with
2 country successes.
Jason Deamer turned out JACK DUGGAN in superb order
in the parade ring at Scone prior to the race, and despite the big weight, which to be fair he had earned on his racetrack record,
Jack Duggan
was still too classy for his peers.
The intent was to be positive, but we were unsure what the speed would be like at this distance, and if any stable or jockey wanted to play hero and take up the running.
As the gates crashed back, Adam was able to get
Jack Duggan
(barrier 4) into a lovely rhythm early and started to work forward as the field thundered past the winning post the first time.
Keegan Latham on the favourite Balmierro wanted to push up underneath us and hold us off the fence, which forced that runner to use petrol early to hold us out.
@ the 2000m
Whilst Jean Van Overmeire on the runner-up Up And Commer was the one that played hero and speared across to out pace us into the turn out of the straight putting up a two length gap. This was beautiful to watch unfold as both the favourite was forced out of its comfort zone to hold us wide and the leader had to use too much petrol to cross us. With
JACK DUGGAN
having to carry 61.0kgs this was the ideal scenario.
The field maintained their positions around that turn and headed into the back straight with Adam having
Jack Duggan
sitting at the tail of the leader annoying it, whilst Jack was in a lovely rhythm.
@ the 1400m
Passing the 1400m to the 1000m still the race was unremarkable with nothing doing as the field dug into their work. Passing the 800m Adam slipped
JACK DUGGAN
a little rein, and Jack cruised up to sit at the girth of the leader, whilst the favourite Balmierro was under pressure already.
From the 500m on the point of the turn Adam asked Jack to improve, and the gallant grey got into his work. The leader went for home at the 400m and put a two-length margin on Jack.
@ the 400m
With 400m to run, Adam pushed the go button and by the 300m had reeled in the leader and gone past it with daylight back to third.
@ the 200m
At the 200m
JACK DUGGAN
had a three-quarter length margin but was at his top under the big weight whilst the leader who only had 55.5 kgs, a 5.5kg (3.7 lengths) pull in the weights, kept whacking away.
@ the 75m
At the 100m
Jack Duggan
proved he was the superior stayer and worked away under hands and heels to the post, recording an eased down and widening 1.79 lengths gap to the runner-up.
Smile !
A good ride by
Adam Hyeronimus
and a terrific bit of horse husbandry by
JASON DEAMER.
JACK DUGGAN pokes his tongue out at his rivals!
