DYNAMIC DEAMER Team Deliver Another WIN For THINK WE’RE THERE
DYNAMIC DEAMER Team Deliver Another WIN For THINK WE’RE THERE

Promising middle-distance galloper
THINK WE’RE THERE
(4yo b. g. by SO YOU THINK (NZ) from NOWHERETOSOMEWHERE)
has had a good preparation.
Whilst this is his second racing prep, his first prep was just a learning his craft effort.
This time in, he has started on
8
occasions
and having
won
his Maiden at Newcastle over
1880m
two starts prior.
On Saturday at Newcastle
he was able to
greet the judge again,
leading his peers to
his
second race victory
,
this time in over
1850m
at Newcastle.
Ridden by Keegan Latham
and carrying
59.0kgs, THINK WE’RE THERE
who is
trained by our almost private Trainer
JASON DEAMER
at NEWCASTLE,
was too strong in Race 3, the URBAN ANGUS Midway Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1850m) earning for his Owners the
$21,000
first prize plus a
$5,625 BOBS Bonus
.
On a Good 4 he ran a Time: 1:56.53 Last 600m: 0:35.05.
Whilst the Margin was narrow,
THINK WE’RE THERE
was never headed up the long Newcastle straight.
Despite
giving away 4.0kgs to the runner-up
who had the better run in transit, tracking us the entire way,
THINK WE’RE THERE
had too much class and despite the 2.75 length handicap weight differential he proved too tough.
As the gates crashed back
THINK WE’RE THERE
tried hard to match motors with the field the first 50m but was slower of natural speed than most. That had him settling second last which was not part of the plan. So, Keegan asked him to improve into the top turn at Newcastle and that had us trapped 3 deep without cover. Keegan pushed on and it took
THINK WE’RE THERE
another furlong to work forward and then cross over to sit at the girth of the leader as the field thundered past the 1400m marker.
A lesser horse would have spent too much petrol early in doing this work but the class of
THINK WE’RE THERE
would be on display later in the event.
From the 1400m to the 600m nothing changed in the race as riders were content holding their positions until the field started to pack-up from the 550m to the point of the home turn when backmarkers made their moves.
As the field swung into the home straight and balanced up there wasn’t much covering the pack.
At the 350m the runner-up with the big weight pull levelled up to eyeball our horse, as they both collared the leader and the pair started to pull away in a two-horse war and battle of attrition to the winning post.
Both horses gave their all over the final 350m but in a determined ride by Keegan and a will to win on display from
THINK WE’RE THERE
it proved there was
no way
the
Dynamic Duo
were going to let the runner-up pass.
As the camera clicked,
THINK WE’RE THERE (59.0kgs) ($3.90)
had successfully held off the challenge of WEBEJAMIN (55.0kgs) ($5.0) who had the length of the straight to work past but couldn’t, to record a 0.16 length win with 2.38 lengths away Sunday (53.0kgs) in third spot, and the ($1.90) odds-on favourite Gwendie (57.0kgs) 2.68 lengths fourth.
JOB DONE!
Jason Deamer spoke to Keegan after the win and said:
“Hey Keegan, that was a lovely win.”
Keegan responded:
“Yeah, Good Performance. It wasn’t ideal there wasn’t a great deal of speed, I think he would have enjoyed it a bit more speed and makes it a true staying test, to really let him bring his best foot forward, but you’ve got to play the cards your dealt, and he sat outside the lead, we went pretty steady early on and he sprinted very nicely at the top of the straight, and I think probably the 59.0 was just starting to hold him that last little bit, and I thought it was a good performance. Another win under his belt this prep and I feel he will get even further than today’s trip.”
CONGRATULATIONS to the Dynamic Ownership Team that race THINK WE’RE THERE:
Dynamic Syndications Racing, J.A.M, Ms L Hurley, Mr A S Cuthbertson, Mr B W Wheatley, Mr D G Templar, Mr B B Wong, Mr S Millsom, Bromac, Mrs K Tew, Mr S Shevki, Mrs M L James, All In JJAC , Mr J Cordoma, Mr C D Hughes, Dynamic No 140.

4yo Bay Gelding
by SO YOU THINK (NZ) from NOWHERETOSOMEWHERE
Was a
$70,000 Inglis Classic

Summary:

and Prizemoney incl. Bonus:
$96,825.
He has won twice at Newcastle (
1850m; 1880m
) and was fourth at Canterbury (
1900m
).
There is little doubt he will continue to improve and develop, and next preparation will prove competitive at better class races from 1800m to 2000m and possibly further.
This was our second win of the day and took our overall record to
922 Race Wins
and it was our
32nd Race Win
for this season.
Onwards and Upwards – Forever Forwards!
