DYNAMIC Filly READY TO PROPHET Delivers GAI Her First GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC

As the
Primary Syndicator
to the GAI WATERHOUSE & ADRIAN BOTT Stables, it’s incredibly satisfying that it was
Dynamic Syndications
who were able to deliver the GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC - the 1350m Listed Race named in Honour of Australia’s First Lady of Racing - to GAI WATERHOUSE and her co-Trainer Adrian Bott so GAI could fill-in a rare gap on her training resume.
On Saturday, the spotlight of the 2019 Brisbane Winter Carnival focused upon Ipswich, where a crowd in excess of 25,000 watched 3 Listed Races up for competition. They were the
I
PSWICH CUP, EYE LINER STAKES and GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC for FILLIES & MARES
.
READY TO PROPHET
won the $125,000 GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC Listed Race over 1350m for Fillies & Mares under a Quality Handicap conditions by 3/4 of a length with a nose separating ORGANZA in second spot from SKATE TO PARIS in third in a time of 1:19.94.
This was the 16th renewal of the Gai Waterhouse Classic and it was the 5th time it has been won by a 3YO filly and the first for GAI.
Other notable winners of this race include:
Magic Alibi, Real Surreal, Jazz Song, Peron, Born To Rock, Dorf Command, Au Chocolat
and the inaugural winner
Ta Ta Tatiana.
Really, the others had no chance in this event as it was aligned in the stars that
READY TO PROPHET
would win. After all, she is trained from the historic
Tulloch Lodge
at Randwick made famous by legendary horse trainer
TJ Smith
, now in the custody of his
Hall Of Fame
daughter.
Ready To Prophet has now won both stakes races named after two of Tommy Smith’s great success stories – Firstly, his daughter GAI and the second, after his fabulous filly DENISE’S JOY.
READY TO PROPHET a 3YO Filly by SMART MISSILE x READY TO LIVE (USA)
is a magnificently bred filly and is now recording her own dynasty having earned
4
pieces of Black-Type in
9
career starts for our sensational
ALL LADIES OWNERSHIP Team.
Ridden to perfection by
Michael Cahill
who has been on fire this carnival,
READY TO PROPHET
responded as a class filly does and was never in danger of defeat.
Jumping away smartly to share the early lead, several other runners were obviously expecting our filly to lead so pushed up hard to keep her wide, anticipating Michael would work hard to cross. However Michael out foxed his peers.
As the opposition pushed up, Michael took hold of
Ready To Prophet
and those underneath us were working hard to be there, whilst Michael bided his time.
Then after 300m, Michael attacked for a forward position and crossed easily, to sit at the girth of
PENNINO
, the only other 3yo filly in the field of 16 runners.
Riding patiently until they were approaching the home turn, Michael was tracking up 3 deep into the straight and sitting on speed, once balanced, he gave
Ready To Prophet
one reminder and our filly
“let rip”
down the middle of the straight putting 2 lengths on her opposition.
Such was the dominance of the turn of foot and how easy
Ready To Prophet
was travelling, Michael Cahill had the luxury of being able to give Ready To Prophet an easy time over the final 100m whilst those chasing were never going to run her down.
I
t was the fifth time pilot Michael Cahill has won the Gai Waterhouse Classic and it was his third win in succession.
Cahill told broadcaster Sky Racing:
“It was a fitting win - she’s a typical Waterhouse horse, she gave me plenty of speed early, we had a nice run and she gave me a really good kick in the straight and we held them at bay,”
"She is a nice filly and she will go on to win better races."
"The race has been really good to me but it was an extra thrill to win it for Gai".
Michael Cahill has been the undoubted star of the Queensland winter, winning six stakes races including the Doomben 10,000 (Gr1, 1200m) and the Kingsford-Smith Cup (Gr 1, 1300m) on The Bostonian (Jimmy Choux).
He gave
Ready To Prophet
($6 third favourite) a prefect run before she came away to win.
Manaya
(5yo m Hinchinbrook) was sent off the $2.60 following her three length success in a Gold Coast handicap seven days earlier however did not pick up in the straight, eventually finishing eighth.
Organza
(4yo m Street Cry) the $3.10 second favourite saved vital ground around the home turn and had a saloon passage when the gap opened at the 250m and Larry Cassidy gave her every hope when finishing off into 2nd spot.
Our travelling foreman
Alana Pearson
, has done a brilliant job
representing Waterhouse and Adrian Bott in Queensland,
managing the day to day routine of
Ready To Prophet.
Alana was on the course and when asked about our filly’s next goal, she advised
Ready To Prophet
was entered for next week's Tattersall's Tiara (Gr1, 1400m) at Eagle Farm but no decision had been made as it all depended upon how the filly pulled up.
"She could back up but Gai or Adrian will make that decision in consultation with Dynamic Syndications. Perhaps there might be something for her at Caloundra in a fortnight, or she may stop now and head to the paddock."
Pearson said.
Racing is based upon dreams and 20 Ladies joined the team we were putting together to race a filly that Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock (FBAA) purchased from breeder / vendor John Cornish’s Torryburn Stud through the Magic Millions Sales in 2017.
LADIES ONLY Ownership
was a concept proposed by
Magic Millions owners Gerry Harvey and Katie Page
to encourage more Ladies to be involved in Racehorse Ownership. It has spurred on many a success story already and
READY TO PROPHET is writing another chapter.
Purchased for a modest
$40,000 + GST
at the Magic Millions, Dynamic Syndications syndicated the filly into 20 shares at
$5,400
per share and the LADIES are certainly “Living the Dream” by joining our Dynamic Syndications Team.
READY TO PROPHET has now raced on 9 occasions recording 3 Wins, 1 Second, 1 Third, 1 Fourth and earned $251,070 to date.
By her own racetrack deeds, matched to a fabulous pedigree, excellent conformation, size and scope,
READY TO PROPHET
has assured her connections that when the day comes to retire, her residual value is expected to be north of
$500,000
for her terrific team of Lady Owners.
With a fantastic pedigree behind her, she has now pumped up her own pedigree page to include:
1st
GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC,
LR
1350 (Ipswich)
DENISE’S JOY STAKES,
LR
1100m (Scone)
ATC TAB Handicap, 1100m (Warwick Farm)

1200m (Randwick)
Dynamic Syndications had sent
READY TO PROPHET
to Queensland with next Saturday’s
TATT’S TIARA Gr1 over 1400m
as our target however we knew we were facing an uphill battle to secure a run in the race, based upon her then Benchmark Rating and Prizemoney earnings, since we were a lightly raced 3YO Filly taking on the Best Mares in Australia.
After winning the Listed Denise’s Joy first up this preparation on the 11th May at Scone over 1100m, the races in Queensland don’t really suit 3yo fillies well.
We elected to stay in Sydney for her second run of the preparation on the 25th May where she ran a bottler to finish runner-up in a field of 15 against the older mares, being asked to carry 59.5kgs from a wide draw before a claim for apprentice Billy Owen.
That effort set us up to head north to attack the Daybreak Lover Plate, a race for 3YO’s but against the boys. Not well weighted under the Set Weights and Penalties,
READY TO PROPHET
ran another super race but the visitors draw again, the hard work early to get across from out wide, the disadvantage of the weight, plus the filly was looking for more ground third up, all conspired to see her run a super third placing and pick up valuable black-type.
However we believed we needed to win to force our way into the Tatt’s Tiara.
Then we had a dilemma. Did we back up in 7 days over 1350m to take on the Mares in the Gai Waterhouse Classic or did we roll the dice and wait for the Tatt’s Tiara?
Some frantic working on the phones early last week uncovered that we could not force our way into the race, so the decision was easy. We would back-up into the Gai Waterhouse Classic.
Then on Wednesday when acceptances came out, our hearts sunk a little after another horror draw of barrier 13. However we were still confident that we would get a good run in transit because the race looked void of a lot of pace. We could see ourselves being positive and could get across fairly easily.
So that was that and we chose to give it a whirl and see how it unfolded and the result was perfect.
Ready To Prophet is one of 13 stakes winners for Twin Hills stud resident Smart Missile,
who is set to stand for an increased fee of $22,000 (inc GST) this year having covered 222 mares at a fee of $13,200 (inc GST) in 2018. His most notable runner to date is the Spring Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Maid Of Heaven.
Ready To Prophet is one of four of winners, out of the Listed-winning More Than Ready (Southern Halo) made Ready To Live,
who herself is a half-sister to the stakes performer
Viva La Slew
(Doneraile Court) - the dam of US Grade 1 winner
Itsmyluckyday
(Lawyer Ron).
Ready To Prophet’s
third dam,
Viva Sec (Secretariat)
, was a ten-time winner, including two Listed contests, while this is also the family of dual American Grade 1 winner
Vicar
(Wild Again) as well as Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Gr 1,1600m) hero and subsequent sire
Astronomer Royal
(Danzig).
What a Thrill for our Sensational Team of Lady Owners and we take this opportunity to thank them all:
Dynamic No 40 Racing Syndicate (Mgr: Mrs F Watt), Mrs C A Tester, Mrs V K Fleming, Ms K Robertson, Mrs J E Fagan, Miss S T Wilkinson, G M & D T Rygate Synd, Ms B M Cassidy, Mrs J Fallon, Big Bickies Synd, Mrs R A Morris, Ms K Wakeford, Mrs L M Kennelly, Mrs J M Jamieson, Mrs K Corby, Mrs B K Cutifani, Mrs H L Hohn, Ms J Kermeen, Ms L A Milbourne, Dawn And Kaz Synd.
