Dynamic Syndications infatuation with
SAVABEEL is well documented.
The yearling
Dean Watt purchased and syndicated that he saw go on to win the
Cox Plate and who has been
Champion Sire in NZ for the past 6 years in succession, was again at the fore in 2021 and on this occasion, we were able to secure a
sensational Colt by the
Super Sire SAVABEEL from the mare
PASSION CHEVAL – a winning daughter of
FASTNET ROCK.
PASSION CHEVAL won at 1200m and was placed in the ATC Blue Diamond Nominations P.
As a broodmare, this colt is her
third foal. Her first 2 foals have raced, 1 Winner and 1 Placed.
Her first foal named
Resolution (by Toronado) was a
$140,000 Ready To Run graduate and he has since won 3 races in Singapore.
Her second foal named
Pounce (by More Than Ready) was a
$400,000 yearling who was placed at 3 this season.
PASSION CHEVAL is a half-sister to Stakes-Placed
CALMING INFLUENCE.
PASSION CHEVAL is a daughter of
Stakes Winning, Gr2 and Gr3 performer CALMING – a winner of 8 races and producer of 9 foals to race, 8 winners.
CALMING is a half-sister to Royal Solitaire - dam of
WAR ARTIST – Champion Older Male Sprinter in Germany in 2009. Also she is the dam of Gr1 placed 2yo
SASHENKA and the grandam of Stakes Winner
SEBRING SUN – ATC Rosebud winner and 2nd ATC Golden Rose and the Up and Coming S., Gr3.
We have traditionally purchased
SAVABEEL progeny from either
O’Reilly or Pins mares which have been recognised as the superior crosses.
However, there is a
new cross emerging rapidly which is having sensational success. That is the mating of
SAVABEEL over FASTNET ROCK mares.
This cross has produced
6 horses to race; 5 Winners: 1 Placed: 2 Stakes Winners – HINDAM and KAONIC.
FASTNET ROCK is a son of
DANEHILL and
DANEHILL line mares overall have produced 15 Stakes Winners by SAVABEEL.
Our colt is bred on this
SAVABEEL x FASTNET ROCK Cross, which has earned significant rating increases to a score of:
A++ 1758% worldwide and an
Australasian rating score of A+ 775% whilst the Quality rating of the pedigree score is well above average as a
Q6.
We really liked this colt when we inspected him and believed he was an elite level individual and a man amongst the boys at this sale.
The colt was placed onto our vetting list and that list was passed across to
our veterinarian Dr Tim Roberts to review the colt clinically.

Tim also rated him highly, placing him in the same high class minority group of Top Colts at the sale on type as
lot 142 our AMERICAN PHAROAH purchase.
Then Tim reviewed the colt’s endoscopic evaluation which was perfect as a
Grade 1 VL (Very Large) throat which is ideal for
miler+ prospects. Tim then read the colt’s X-rays which he declared were
low risk and told us to try and buy him as he was a lovely horse.
Having a solid working relationship with the
crew at Yulong Stud, we were able to establish that their reserve was being set very conservatively because being a colt, they were sellers in this market.
A few lots prior to the colt entering the ring, we were able to confirm their reserve had been set at
$80,000 and we were delighted with that news, that their colt would be offered so realistically.
Adam Watt from Dynamic waited until the bidding was approaching that mark and shot in a bid at
$80,000 to ensure we were holding the first
“live bid.”
Our new addition - SAVABEEL x PASSION CHEVAL Bay Colt
Amazingly from our perspective, our bid wasn’t countered and the hammer fell to our bid of
$80,000 + GST.
Inglis Melbourne Premier (Auction Ring) - Lot 238 Savabeel x Passion Cheval colt from Dynamic Syndications on Vimeo.
It was like
Christmas morning, we got the present we wanted most from
Santa.
He wasn’t purchased to be a
pre-Christmas 2yo type. He is bred to be a
3yo - to aim at the Classic races at 1600m to 2000m.
Traditionally because
SAVABEEL stands in NZ, his progeny are not eligible for
BOBS, VOBIS or QTIS Bonus however because this colt was bred and raised in Victoria, he becomes
eligible for the VOBIS Bonus races under “Category B” qualification, so he will be paid up to enter that series as well as being made eligible for the rich
Inglis race series.
We walk away from the 2021 INGLIS Premier Sale Day 1 with the 2 Top Colts we had identified, at prices we could only dream about prior to the sale commencing. Had these colt’s been sold at other sales there seems little doubt we would have needed to pay significantly more to own them.
The fact we have
added a SAVABEEL to our wonderful team of 2021 purchases, along with a
second yearling by super sire AMERICAN PHAROAH places us in the
ideal and enviable position that we have yearlings by
THE BEST OF THE BEST sires.
A decision will be made in the coming days as to the stable the colt will enter however it is highly likely that it will be with a Victorian based trainer to access the rich VOBIS additional prizemoney that will be on offer.
