Friday 9 September the
Magic Millions held a
unique Online Auction where amongst horses being offered, there were
two (2) distinct drafts full of interest and merit to the marketplace.
The first was the RA & JE Ferguson Partnership “50% off sale” for 22 new season 2yo fillies.
Quite a unique if not bazaar set of circumstances were around this dispersal.
As published prior to the sale by
Magic Millions, Mr Rob Ferguson, a previous partner with Gerry Harvey and John Singleton in ownership of the Magic Millions, allegedly had health issues and had just come out of surgery during the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale conducted on the Gold Coast in May.
Affected by high dosage medication at this same time, the purchaser went online from his post surgery recovery area and under the fictitious name
LOUIS BLOODSTOCK (allegedly named after his dog Louis) proceeded to purchase
22 Fillies in a row. By the time the management were able to respond and cut off his credit limit and shut down the buyer’s portal, over a
million dollars of fillies had been purchased. It has been reported that apparently when Rob came around, and realised what had happened, true to the gentleman’s excellent character, he
settled in full with Magic Millions paying for all horses.
However, the issue was Rob didn’t want them, so
Magic Millions assisted in the concept then promotion of a 50% Reduction sale on these 22 lots. All lots were re-offered for sale online on Friday 9 September with a reserve price of 50% of what Rob purchased them for.
Totally untried, none of these fillies had been broken-in, and have been agisting at a premium property since June, waiting for this sale to be conducted. Each of the 22 Lots were floated from the Southern Highlands up to the Gold Coast so potential buyers could inspect these now 2yo fillies in one central complex prior to the auction concluding.
Dynamic Syndications had an upper hand. Our contracted veterinarian
, Dr Tim Roberts was employed by Magic Millions on behalf of Mr Ferguson, to evaluate each 2yo filly and supply a veterinary certificate pre-sale for potential bidders. So, Tim had an intimate knowledge of each filly.
Tim needed to return interstate on Tuesday evening, prior to the arrival of the
second draft being dispersed, that of
21 TFI Geldings Dispersal that arrived on complex at 1:00pm Wednesday.
This second draft was known as the
TFI Gelding Reduction Sale.
TFI stands for
Tony Fung International, and this is the vehicle behind the
AQUIS racing and breeding conglomerate.
Their business model is to
only race colts. So when colts become geldings, they no longer fit their business philosophy of just racing well-bred colts to become stallion prospects, therefore they are ruthless in culling their geldings, and they are offered for
unreserved sale.
We had our other go to
veterinarian Dr Greg Nash inspect these TFI horses for Team Dynamic and report in, whilst the available endoscopic evaluations and X-rays were available for Tim Roberts to review online from the Magic Millions repository.
Independently, Greg Nash had also reviewed the Ferguson draft of 2yo fillies.
After reporting back to us on the
TFI Geldings, we made an inquiry as to his views on the available fillies and Greg was adamant that we should pursue just 2 fillies.
These were the exact two fillies Dr Tim Roberts had also encouraged us to purchase.
As luck would have it, we had
already arranged both their sets of X-rays to be read and their endoscopic evaluations done.
They are by two hot young sires out of Stakes performing mares.
We were able to buy both these highly recommended fillies, having done a complete due diligence assessment upon them.
We secured Lot 1, a filly by young sire TRAPEZE ARTIST x WOWEE (a Gr3 Winner).
The
Dam WOWEE, (by Choisir) won
3 races 1600m to 2500m, inc South Australia Fillies Classic, Gr.3.
She has produced 3 named foals, all raced,
2 winners & 1 Placegetter:
Karalee Rocks (f. by Flying Artie). Winner at 1000m in 2021-22.
I Am Perfect (g. by Sepoy). Winner at 1700m.
Sepella (f. by Sepoy). Placed in NZ.
Whilst our filly’s 2nd dam is
ZEAL, (by Zabeel), Winner at 1200m, 3d WRC Trax H. Half-sister to Yorick, Final Waltz (dam of HAIRY). Dam of 6 to race, 3 winners.
Originally purchased for $32,000 in May, we secured this filly for $27,000 + GST.

Minutes later we purchased the bargain of the year.
Lot 5 was a filly by boom young sire HELLBENT (by I AM INVINCIBLE). HELLBENT is the current Leading Second Crop Sire in Australia by both Earnings and by Winners. He has already sired 17 Individual Winners including 3 Stakes Placed progeny.
Our filly is from the Stakes Placed mare ANNA LIZZIE. She won 6 races, 4 in succession, winning $200,000 and was runner-up in the BTC Just Now H., LR.
Whilst her 2nd dam is Stakes Placed Strange Aura, (by Kreisler), 6 wins 1200m to 1615m and $174,292, inc Qld Tatt's RC Golden Garter H., QTC Golden Garter H.-twice, BTC Kevin Proctor Quarries H., 2d GCTC Silk Stocking H., LR. She is also the Dam of 4 winners.

This filly was purchased in May for $18,000 but became Dynamic for
$10,500 + GST.
These were the only two fillies to have met our stringent buying criteria including pedigree genetics and had also been independently passed by our two leading veterinarians.
We then waited for the second draft of significance to roll through. This being the
TFI Gelding Dispersal.
We had our sights set on
three (3) of these lots however
2 sold for what we considered were prices well-beyond their true ceiling prices we had set.
Importantly for our loyal supporters at Team Dynamic, we were able to secure the one gelding we wanted the most.
Working in conjunction with the horse’s previous
trainer ANNABEL NEASHAM, Dynamic Syndications have horses trained from Annabel’s stables and we were aware she was very keen to buy-back
Lot 86 a beautiful type by Australia’s Number 1 Sire I AM INVINCIBLE. This 3yo gelding is from the mare
DASHOFF (by Dash For Cash).
That makes our newly acquired gelding the
half-brother to Gr1 Winner SPRIGHT (f by Hinchinbrook). 6 wins-3 in succession-at 1100m, 1200m, $1,395,595, SAJC Robert Sangster S.,
Gr.1, VRC Crown Resorts P.,
Gr.3, ATC Star Kingdom H.,

This gelding was a $300,000 Inglis Easter Yearling and to date has only had 4 starts including a luckless 0.1 length Runner-up.

He had been a bit naughty and headstrong when a colt, but the gelding has turned him right around.
He’s back in full work and trailed recently and was earmarked to trial for a second-time today at Warwick Farm and head to the races in a fortnight but TFI advised that the gelding would be part of the dispersal, so
Annabel and Adam from Dynamic Syndications got their heads together and
we purchased the horse to return immediately into Annabel’s care.
The horse will leave the Magic Millions complex on Saturday morning and head straight to Annabel’s Warwick Farm stables where we expect to see him trial again in 3 weeks and be ready to
resume on or about Mid October.
Annabel is adamant that JOHNNY DASH is more than capable of winning city races, and the gelding of him has made a huge difference to his temperament this time in training.
From our owner’s perspective, he is ready to go racing and there is at least $20,000 worth of feed and conditioning in him ahead on an exciting preparation.

Recapping, he is a
half-brother to a Gr1 winner, a full-brother to a stakes placed mare. He’s b
y Australia’s champion sire I AM INVINCIBLE, he was a $300,000 Easter yearling and he is only being sold because he is now a gelding and
AQUIS don’t race geldings. Further, we know he can run because, he was beaten a nose, so we still have the easy maiden winner’s cheque to bank. Finally, Annabel was unwavering she wanted the horse back, so we purchased him to run in our colours.
Our followers know the success we have with our tried horse’s market, and this 3yo gelding is an beauty.
We were successful at a winning bid of
$45,000 + GST.
We were delighted but nobody was happier than Annabel that she is getting him back to train and assured that he should be adding photos to the wall with jockeys wearing our silks.
We intend to syndicate each of these three (3) cracking purchasers over the coming weeks once documents have been created and lodged for approval with Racing NSW. In the interim, we will be reserving places in them for our existing team of
Dynamic Syndications owners who will have first opportunity to be involved.
Because of the rarity, pricing, and quality, we anticipate these three quality horses at these price points will be snapped-up and gone well prior to heading onto the open market.
So don’t miss out, let Adam Watt at Dynamic Syndications know of your interest to head to the races with
JOHNNY DASH in the coming weeks, and / or getting involved with one of both of these two fabulous fillies.
As they say,
“every champion has a story!”
