Our first purchase on Day 4 was a magnificent Bay COLT by outstanding sire DEEP FIELD ex BLONDE INTUITION. She’s a daughter of Champion Broodmare Sire REDOUTE’S CHOICE.
Purchased from Newgate Farm, LOT 670 is by a sire doing a great job at stud with over 300 winners and more than 20 stakes winners. Such is his demand, his Service Fee was $55,000 at Year of Conception and has now risen to $88,000 in 2022.
Our New COLT comes from a female family that is one of the best pedigrees in the Australian Stud Book.
The DAM – BLONDE INTUITION was a winner at 2 over 1100 metres.
As a Broodmare, this is her third foal. Her first foal Blonde Venture is a winner at 2 over 1200 metres. She has had two foals sell for an average of $375,000. Her First Foal by Capitalist was $200,000 and her second foal by I Am Invincible sold for $550,000.
BLONDE INTUITION is a full sister to SW COME HITHER (Dam of SW COHESION). She is a three-quarter-sister to brilliant racehorse and Champion Sire - NOT A SINGLE DOUBT. She is half-sister to Stakes Winner MASTER ASH and Stakes Winner FUN IN FLIGHT.
Our COLT’S 2nd Dam is Gr2 placed HANKY PANKY, and her 3rd Dam is stakes placed SINGLES BAR. This is the immediate family of Champion Australian two-year-old ZIZOU; Golden Slipper runner-up OOHOOD, and Gr1 Sires Produce and Champagne Stakes winner KING’S LEGACY.
Our COLTS Genetic Rating Score = A+++
Our COLTS Geographical Rating Score = A+++
Our COLTS Quality Rating Score = Q 7
This exciting colt has a rating score that places is him as equal 5th Best by Genetic Rating Score and equal 4th Best Colt by Rating Score in the 1273 lot catalogue.
This is a high quality, well conformed, athletic individual, who stands over good ground, with an excellent bio mechanical motion.
Our veterinarian Dr Tim Roberts rated this colt highly with a score of 7+ and the colt has clean X-rays and a Grade 1 scope.
You won’t and can’t find a better value colt at the Magic Millions in 2023, that is Sound of wind and limb with such a brilliant family behind him at this price point.
It was just one of those times that “the harder you work the luckier you get.”
We had done our due diligence and had the x rays read and scope reviewed.
We knew that he was right for purchase. We were adamant he was a $180-$200,000 Colt but true to the great vendors Newgate Farm are, they bring their horses to sales to sell, and they let the market determine their sale price.
To our team, he was a 3-times to 4-times Service Fee Colt. That valued him between $150,000 to $200,000. So, to buy him in the salering for $90,000 + GST = $99,000 was incredible.
“Let Your Eye’s be your judge and your pockets be your guide on this cracking Colt.”
YES - MY FRIEND THE ANSWER IS BLOWIN IN THE WIND!
LOT 671 – YES YES YES ex BLOWIN IN THE WIND (by Danehill) Bay Filly foaled 30 August 21.
YES YES YES - the Scintillating EVEREST WINNER in Randwick Track Record Time, is an exciting First Crop Sire has all the hallmarks to make it as a Sire and some of his first crop progeny look early coming, very speedy types.
In our opinion and in the opinion of our veterinarian, this was one of the best-looking daughters of YES YES YES on offer at the sale that would be at a realistic price. There were several others, but the vendors were just talking telephone numbers as reserves.
In our opinion she was entrenched in the Top 3 Fillies by the Sire at the sale.
On this market, we valued her as a minimum 4 times to 4.5 times Service Fee FILLY. The Service Fee at conception was $35,000 + GST. So that valued her at $140,000 - $150,000.
Then we discounted $20,000 for the fact that she had been a pinhooked (sold as a weanling) for $50,000 + GST = $55,000.
So, we felt she would be outstanding value at $120,000 to $130,000 filly in the salering. We knew the reserve was $100,000 but the vendor was confident he would be getting $150,000 plus based upon her popularity.
As we had already purchased 10 yearlings by the time she was set to go through the salering, we decided not to proceed aggressively for her. We felt the market could make us pay overs and with 10 already purchased, we felt we were well satisfied.
However as per our “inside information” we knew her reserve was set at $100,000 so just in case she fell through the cracks, we made sure that we were the $100,000 bid.
We were surprised our bid wasn’t countered. We loved her and thought she would make more. We were thrilled when the hammer fell to our bid of $100,000 + GST = $110,000. We loved her on conformation and her early foaling date of 30 August is a big bonus.
Our Vet Dr Tim Roberts rated her in his top bracket at the sale, giving her a high-ranking score of 8. He then read the X-rays and they were Low Risk. The videoscope was a Grade 1 (perfect). So, we knew with certainty, not only was she a good type, she was also sound of wind and limb.
We also knew the vendor is a trader, so this filly was for genuine sale. It was on a one-way ticket.
Her commercial pedigree comes with excellent genetic rating scores:
She has a Worldwide Genetic Rating Score of A 488%.
She has an Australian Genetic Rating Score of A 331%
And she has a Genetic Quality Rating Score of Q 6.
The mare’s progeny are averaging $101,000 for her yearlings sold through the salering.
Her DAM - BLOWIN IN THE WIND (by Danehill) is one of the few remaining daughters of DANEHILL active at Stud.
She is bred on the sensational ENCOSTA DE LAGO x DANEHILL Cross which has already produced 73 Stakes Winners including 11 Gr1 Winners.
The DAM has had nine foals to race = 6 Winners & 3 Placegetters = 100% performed on the track.
She has already produced a Stakes Winner - THEANSWERMYFRIEND (by High Chaparral) 8 wins – LR Winner and Gr3 & LR placed.
We simply couldn’t find a better opportunity at an affordable price in the equine lottery for YES YES YES than the way this filly looked and is bred.
She will be trained by CIARON MAHER RACING.
BRING ME the SUCCESS of the SNITZEL’S with this DYNAMIC COLT
Drumroll please …….. Be ready to be amazed!
Introducing LOT 687 a Colossal COLT by CHAMPION SIRE - SNITZEL from the brilliant racemare BRING ME THE MAID (by Sebring) from the sensational immediate family of our Dynamic Golden Slipper Winner - POLAR SUCCESS.
BRING ME THE MAID was a racetrack sensation! She won 3 races -2 at 2- and they were all black-type. She was a twice Gr2 Winner and a Listed Winner. She was Group 1 placed in the Golden Slipper, and she was Group 1 performed in the Thousand Guineas; BTC Cup and was also Gr2 and Gr3 placed.
As a Broodmare her yearlings have averaged $450,000 in the salering.
The female family here is outstanding. This is the family of Dean Watt’s syndicated Gr1 Golden Slipper and Gr2 Riesling Slipper Winner – POLAR SUCCESS.
Stakes Winners in this immediate female family include: AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ STRONGER, BACHMAN, STEPITUP, SAMBRO, CIRCLES OF GOLD, GOLD WELLS, YANKEE GOLD, BIT OF A SKITE, SHAGOLVIN, and stakes placed PARFUMIER, PATOU, VODEMORT, EAU DE JOIE, etc.
His commercial pedigree comes has excellent genetic rating scores:
He has a Worldwide Genetic Rating Score of A+ 987%
He has an Australian Genetic Rating Score of A+ 674%
And has a Genetic Quality Rating Score of Q 5.
Our Vet Dr Tim Roberts rated him in his elite bracket at this sale, giving him his highest-ranking score of 8+ and when Tim read the X-rays and they were Low Risk and the videoscope was a Grade 1 (perfect). So, we knew with certainty, not only was he a great type, importantly he was also sound of wind and limb.
It’s not always what you know, it’s often also who you know. We knew before the horse entered the salering he was the result of a breeding partnership between Arrowfield Stud who stand SNITZEL and one of their main clients. As a result, the horse had to be sold to dissolve that ownership. So a reduced Reserve price was set on the COLT to ensure they met the market.
Arrowfield gave us the heads-up about the reserve and advised that they liked him too, and if we purchased him, they would like to buy back 10% into the colt to race him with us. To us, that’s the ultimate endorsement – they owned 50% - they met the market and purchased back in for 10% because they believe in him and like us, they believe he is a genuine stallion prospect.
This was our third (3rd) yearling by Champion Sire SNITZEL. (Arrowfield Stud 10%)
He joins the stables of CIARON MAHER RACING along with our other SNITZEL Yearlings:
LOT 33 - the COLT ex Gr1 placed KYLIKWONG and (Gerry Harvey 25%)
LOT 479 - the FILLY ex THE HAMPTONS the DAM of SW PEARL GREEN (Gerry Harvey 50%).
Is it POSSIBLE our FINAL PURCHASE is our BEST BUY? Is 13 our LUCKY NUMBER?
And 13 makes a BAKER’S DOZEN of the most fantastic yearlings Dynamic Syndications have ever assembled from one sale.
The 2023 MAGIC MILLIONS Sale has seen our TEAM scale new heights of successful purchases, at incredible value in a testing marketplace that we happily pass on to our ownership teams to achieve and enjoy racetrack success.
LOT 726 PIERRO ex CIARLET Bay COLT
OUR COLT By the Champion Racehorse and Sire PIERRO is something special and it’s no wonder when you consider the way he has been bred!
This is a mouth-watering pedigree page that ensures he is a genuine STALLION PROSPECT.
His SIRE – PIERRO was the Golden Slipper Winning - Champion Australian 2YO and World Champion 3yo.
His DAM – CIARLET (by Northern Meteor) was a Sydney success story. She won 2 races at 1100m 1200m.
You Ask – We Deliver!
Extremely Important is the fact that CIARLET (by Northern Meteor) is the FULL SISTER to Leading Australian Sire ZOUSTAR who in 2022 stood at a Service Fee of $198,000.
ZOUSTAR was a dual Gr1 Winner and Gr1 Placed and is a Champion Sire in waiting.
CIARLET is also a Half-Sister to Stakes Winner and Gr3 placed - EMPEROR OF THE SUN.
This is the Female Family of Gr2 Winner DUSTY STAR, Gr3 and Magic Millions Cup Winner TESTASHADOW and of multiple stakes placed SPACEBOY - who was the recent runner-up to Dynamic Syndications Sensational Mare I AM ME when she smashed the track record at Canterbury when winning the Listed Canterbury Sprint on New Year’s Day.
As a Broodmare CIARLET has been in demand as her three progeny to have sold previously, sold for $250k, $825k & $200k for an average of $425k.
Our Vet Dr Tim Roberts rated him highly as a 7+ ranking score and when Tim read the X-rays and they were Low Risk and the videoscope was a Grade 2. So, we knew with certainty, he was sound of wind and limb.
Offered by Coolmore Stud, whom Dynamic Syndications have achieved a lot of success purchasing their yearlings and as a result we have a close relationship with them. We had already purchased two yearlings from them this sale and we were tapped on the shoulder about this COLT.
They originally had set a Reserve of $200,000 on him and we had advised we had already purchased LOT 235 their PIERRO COLT ex PICCADILLIES from them for $200k and he was from a Half-Sister to FASTNET ROCK, so we didn’t need another one at this deep stage of the sale.
Yet again, it’s not always what you know, it’s often also who you know.
Just two LOTS prior to the COLT going through the salering, their team whispered to us that trading partnership who bred him needed to sell, so they had just dropped the Reserve Price from $200,000 down to $125,000 which was equivalent to the Service Fee for the Sire in the year of Conception. This was dynamite information. He was worth $200,000 all day long, and he was a true Stallion Prospect.
Having done the hard yards earlier in the week by doing all our due diligence with vetting, X-rays and scope, we knew he was sound and right, so we had no hesitation. Still we simply didn’t believe we would get him as we considered he would make his $200,000 and we didn’t want to spend that much so late in the sale. So, despite already having a brilliantly bred colt by the sire we backed-up again.
The bidding stalled at $120,000 and Adam bid $125,000 knowing it was on the market at that price.
To our amazement, our price wasn’t countered and the Hammer Fell.
WOW – How do you buy a colt with such a wonderful pedigree and looks to match for such incredible value? The mind boggles.
Since GAI & ADRIAN trained PIERRO, it’s a perfect fit that they should train this sensationally bred son of the champion Racehorse and Sire.
In summation, we have achieved way above our own KPI’s at this year’s Magic Millions Sale.
There is only the final night session on Day 5 to follow and we only have two horses marked there, so its highly likely we have now concluded our buying.
4 Days in, we have exceed expectations.
We never considered we could gather such a wonderful array of top-quality yearlings by the Best Sires from Brilliant pedigrees, all Sound of wind and limb with the highest Genetic Rating Scores and so many genuine Stallion Prospects.
Again it proves hard work pays dividends.
We only had a dozen horses in BOOK 2 to inspect and we were not satisfied they were of the quality we need to own and race for our ownership teams. Therefore, Dynamic Syndications will not be active at this low end of the market.
We have now established Prices on all 13 Yearling Purchases. Insurance Memorandums are in place, Veterinary Certificates have been received, Product Disclosure Statements and Owners Deed Documentation is in the process of being submitted to Racing NSW for Statutory Approval, so we can go to market with our purchasers.
If you want to know more or wish to reserve a share in any of our purchasers, please feel free to chat with ADAM WATT at Dynamic Syndications on 02 9540 1511 or 0409 464 378 or drop us an email to adam@dynamicsyndications.com.au
See You in the Winner’s Circle !
