When the planets align its magical.
Day 2 at the
2021 MAGIC MILLIONS YEARLING SALE has proven to be exactly that.
Having purchased
two (2) fabulous fillies on Day 1, then
Day 2 started with a bang when we grabbed Lot 204 a cracking colt by Fastnet Rock we were rightfully pleased with ourselves but we hadn’t finished shopping and we were keen to add other special colt if we could –
and we did!
When the horse you dream of on pedigree lives up to the page on type, it’s both exciting and nerve-wracking, because we then stress
(a) do we have enough money and
(b) will we miss out?
However, when we chat with the farm and they are keen to stay in and race the horse with you on the proviso they have first and last crack at standing him as a stallion if he has racetrack success, it gives greater confidence.
Then our vet says the horse is
a good sort and sound of wind and limb, and we can
buy him with confidence and then, he reports back that the
X-rays are clear and clean, we know we are on a genuine chance of being able to buy the one we want.
Then we find out that the horse is for sale and they are putting him on the market with a
reserve of $150,000 for a horse we had valued significantly higher, we know we have a battle ahead to fend off other bidders.
We can now report that whilst we were stressed beyond normal limits,
we proved to be successful when we achieved an incredible purchase.
Lot 278 was an athletic, chestnut colt by one of the world’s best stallions
FRANKEL from the city winning Street Cry mare
EVENING ROSE.
Lot 278 our latest addition a colt by FRANKEL x EVENING ROSE
When the gavel fell at a bid of
$180,000 + GST it was then
the property of Dynamic Syndications.
Imagine saying to your mates you own a
FRANKEL Colt!
And, since the catalogue went to print,
Dynamic Syndications have added to the pedigree page with our highly promising Savabeel gelding
HIGH SUPREMACY who won on debut and has run second to The Elanora in the Gr3 Spring Stakes. We have a huge opinion that he can add major black type this preparation.
This is a
super pedigree!
An Australian bred and raced mare, sent to England to be covered to the champion FRANKEL to Southern Hemisphere time service and flown back to Australia in foal to FRANKEL. There was no change in $80,000 just in airfares. Let alone the service fee and the production costs.
Its no wonder the Yulong Team rated the colt and wanted to be involved should their dream of breeding a stallion prospect by FRANKEL come to fruition.
Australian owners and trainers tend to only want to buy horses by sires they know locally, and many opportunities are missed along the way.
LOVE TAP winning the Gloaming Stakes
This could prove to be another marvellous purchase. Two sales ago we bought
LOVE TAP a son of champion US sire TAPIT from the same salering for just $110,000 and he’s already a stakes winner.
The difference here is that
FRANKEL is a global phenomenon and stands at the powerhouse Juddmonte Farm at a service fee of
175,000 GBP (AUD $310,000).

The leading British-based sire of 2YOs in 2020 by black-type performers (9)
The leading sire in Europe by % runners
It’s easy to see why
Yulong sent
EVENING ROSE to FRANKEL.
She won 2 races at 1600m. She is a daughter of
Champion Staying mare BRAMBLE ROSE.
She is a half-sister to
three Stakes Winners: TANGLED, SEBROSE and MAULES CREEK.
BRAMBLE ROSE is a half-sister to multiple Stakes Winner LADY CHAPARRAL (dam of our own HIGH SUPREMACY).
Another major factor is that
FRANKEL a son of champion sire Galileo, genetically works exceptionally well with daughters of STREET CRY.
It’s a genetic rating of
A+ 1,304% and the female pedigree has a huge Quality Rating Score of
80%.
We purchased this colt to be a potential
3YO Classics contender.
To aim at the Blue Ribbon races like Randwick and Rosehill Guineas, Caulfield Guineas, Doncaster, Epsom, etc, and other feature mile races.
He is not the horse to buy into if you want to win the Magic Millions 2yo race, however other Magic Millions races are available to him as an older horse.
Whilst he is also eligible for and will be paid up to the
Super VOBIS and VOBIS GOLD schemes.
This colt is "as rare as he’s teeth" and when the
Yulong Farm team want to stay in as a
potential stallion prospect this colt could turn out to be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
