Dynamic Syndications have added a special colt into our Team on
Day 2 at the Magic Millions as we struck in the first hour to buy
LOT 204, a fabulous Bay Colt by champion sire
FASTNET ROCK x DANCE MIX (by Hennessy) foaled 15 October 2019 from Bhima Thoroughbreds (as agent).
Our FASTNET ROCK x DANCE MIX Colt
The gavel fell on our bid of
$210,000 + GST we set a
new record price for Dynamic Syndications to pay at auction for any colt, and this price now matches our previous top price paid in 2020 when we secured an I Am Invincible Filly.
We paid this because we regard him as one of the
best colts we have ever had the opportunity to take home from a yearling sale.
A sensational type, he is really athletic and displays excellent quality.
Very well confirmed he is neat and correct, with good bone, a deep girth and strong hindquarter.
Very importantly,
he looks a real early coming 2yo type of Fastnet Rock, with the matching pedigree to be a precocious 2yo.
He is certainly a horse that we will
aim at next year’s Magic Millions, Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond, etc.
That’s why we targeted him to have a quality horse to aim at the big target races.
Our veterinarian
Dr Tim Roberts rated him highly and strongly recommended to buy him if he landed in our price range.
Tim passed the colt on X-Rays and noted he had a Grade 1 (clean) endoscopic evaluation.
Its not always what you know, often its who you know, and through a long association with Mike Fleming the proprietor of Bhima, we discovered that the colt was the result of
a foal share agreement between the breeder
Mr Jonathan Munz (GSA Bloodstock) and Coolmore Stud.
In essence, the breeder supply’s the broodmare and Coolmore Stud supply the service to
FASTNET ROCK without charge (valued in 2018 at
$150,000) and the breeder picks up all holding costs on mare and resultant foal. Then both sides split the income
50:50 they receive on the sale of the yearling. The contractual requirement is that the yearlings must be offered for unreserved sale and must be sold in the ring. The yearling is not allowed to be passed-in with a reserve price otherwise the breeder must pay out the Stud supplying the service at 50% of the reserve price.
Knowing this information pre-sale is a terrific insight. To know that the horse is
“for sale” we know we are competing against the market and if we bid, we can buy if we have the final say.
We are not competing with the vendor to their reserve price, which is regularly unrealistic, hence this is a major reason why sales have an average 15% pass-in rate.
To buy a colt bred this way for $210,000 in this market represents exceptional buying.
We had gone to $200,000 on a Fastnet Rock colt on Day 1 but the vendor was unrealistic, and the horse was passed-in and is still unsold.
Lot 204 which we have purchased was always a better type with a far better pedigree both commercially and genetically so to gain him into our team for just $210,000 was awesome.
Firstly, this colt has been deliberately bred to a fantastic
A+++ cross. Fastnet Rock over Hennessy mares has produced
20 Runners / 14 Winners (70%) / 3 Stakes Winners (15%).
Our colt is from
DANCE MIX who was unraced. She is the three-quarter sister to the dam of Stakes Winners
KRUPT, ANEVAY, the half-sister to stakes winner
MUSIDORA (dam of
SACRED EYE and
TULIP), stakes placed
Outsourcing and
Etruscan King.
DANCE MIX has already produced two foals to race, both winners including Gr3 performer
DOWNLOADS.
Importantly this colt is also
BOBS eligible to run for even greater bonus prizemoney.
Stay tuned for further updates as we determine the share price and trainer. This colt is a must to be involved with and will sell quickly so we recommend registering your interest to be among the first to know when we offer him for sale.
