NINTH PURCHASE:
Vroom Vroom Another Ferrari Prospect Lot 629 by JUSTIFY Now DYNAMIC
Magic Millions Day 4 started in superb style for Team Dynamic as we negotiate on an early passed-in lot with Coolmore Stud, purchasing a fantastic filly by their Boom First Season Sire JUSTIFY from French mare TINGU.
We loved her when we saw her on the first day of inspections but were of the opinion, she would sell for
well over our ceiling price. Then after the first two days of the sale with the stallion being leading First Crop Sire averaging over
$330,000 we gave up all hope.
Late Day 2 we stole a beautiful filly by the sire for
$220,000, so
we had our queen and were content with what we had purchased.
However, a
burning desire to buy the daughter of
JUSTIFY from TINGU but we gave up hope thinking she was a
$250,000 - $300,000 filly.
We were advised on Thursday night that the team of owners had put a
reserve of $250,000 on their filly which is far more than what we pay for any horse, so we lost hope on getting the filly.
The filly was presented into the sale-ring and left
passed-in for
$120,000 with a reserve of
$200,000.
What was going on?
We went straight to the Coolmore barn and spoke to the team to try an understand what had happened.
It appeared there was a
“difference of opinion” between the owners as to what the reserve should be set at, and they
dropped their price to $200,000 just before she entered the ring.
Before the sale, having had the filly vetted by
Dr Tim Roberts, where she was
sound and right of wind and limb, with a
Grade 1 scope and low risk X- rays, we hadn’t changed our mind on buying her.
We are good clients to Coolmore Stud, so we offered them $150,000 + GST.
In a hurried discussion between their owners, Coolmore got their owners to agree to the sale and we
shook hands at $150,000 + GST.
Vroom Vroom -
we have added a second JUSTIFY filly to our Dynamic Team and a second opportunity to run for a set of keys to a Ferrari.
Coolmore Stud have been doing a sensational promotion for their first crop sire and have offered as a prize of a
shiny new, Red Ferrari to the
first JUSTIFY who wins one of a select group of races next season!
Live The Dream – Vroom Vroom!
Plus she is eligible for the massive MAGIC MILLIONS Race Series plus on top of record prizemoney, she is also BOBS and BOBS Extra eligible as well.
The filly we have purchased is bred to be a 1600m to 2400m 3yo so will be the ideal candidate to run for the Classic Races as a 3yo from Guineas to Oaks plus a perfect filly to aim at the 1800m to 2400m races available in the
Magic Millions Race Series.
TINGU won over 1800m in France and our filly is her first foal.
TINGU is a half-sister to Stakes Winner
PISANELLO a French Stakes Winner at 1600m

TENTH PURCHASE:
Eye Catching AMERICAN PHAROAH Colt Joins Team DYNAMIC Day 4
Our 10th purchase at this year’s Magic Millions Sale and second on Day 4 was Lot 679.
Presented into the sale ring by
Kia Ora Stud, we had him on our radar from the moment we saw him way back on the 4th January, being the first day of inspections, and had to bide our time until this equine Adonis was produced for sale.
He is an
“absolute belter” near perfect in every way. The closest to
flawless you could find at the sale.
But wait there’s more! ….. He was the result of a
“Foal Share Agreement” between Kia Ora Stud and Coolmore Stud. As our owners and followers know, we identify Foal Shares because they must be sold through the ring unreserved. –
You Bid / You Buy so you are in the game from the start and not be run up to an inflated reserve price.
Our vet
Dr Tim Roberts gave him an equal highest rating after inspections and then he had a
Grade 1 Scope and crystal clear X-rays.
Going into the sale-ring
unreserved can also be thwart with danger as the Lot can kick off at a low value causing concern if potential buyers haven’t done their homework or read x-rays.
This is what happened here. The auctioneer called for a high opening bid to no response and quickly dropped back down to an ask of 50, then 40, then 30 and after a pregnant pause, we bid $30,000 to start the process, it took a while before a counter at 40 then we fired back immediately with 50. Another 30 seconds went by for a counter at 60 when we went straight back again at 70. This was the winning blow, and the colt was knocked down to
Team Dynamic for $70,000 + GST.
AMERICAN PHAROAH was a world-champion racehorse winning 9 races 8 at Gr1 level, and now a proven sire and a champion sire in the USA with 169 winners and 23 stakes winners. His Australian progeny are only 3yos with 11 winners including Gr2 Winner Head Of State.
Our latest Colt has a terrific pedigree, and his breeding is unique.
He is out of the Gr2 and Listed winning USA racemare
WAR HEROINE (USA) who won
4 races 1 at 2 from 1300m to 1600m and $240,945 USD in only 6 starts.
Uniquely
WAR HEROINE is a daughter of Australian champion sire
LONHRO. She was bred in the USA in 2015 as a result one of the years that that
LONHRO shuttled to Darley Studs Kentucky operation.
WAR HEROINE is a daughter of
WAR TIGRESS (by War Chant). She won 3 races and was a
Stakes Winner and Stakes Performed another 3-times.
Whilst the 3rd Dam is
TIGRESA (by Tejano) won 6 races and was stakes placed at Keeneland.
This is a strong sprinter / miler family in the USA and being covered by champion
American Pharoah is an exciting prospect.
Our Colt is BOBS Eligible and now eligible for the Magic Millions race series which includes the new $1m THE SYNDICATE race amongst the $11.75m prizemoney on offer on Magic Millions Day each year.
The pedigree suggests he will be a sprinter / miler as a 3yo and older racehorse.
