A well-executed plan, a horse placed to perfection, matched by a seamless ride with a well-educated horse, added up to a dominant victory for our Dynamic Dundeel 3yo Filly OUR FUN when she rattled home to score breaking her maiden in emphatic style at Kembla Grange.
OUR FUN & Christian Reith Winning at Kembla 30/4/19
Sky Channel race caller Anthony Manton placed our filly as his “Top Selection” at the sensational price of $15 and a large group of Dynamic co-owners were on course to shout and cheer their filly to victory.
OUR FUN
The Richard Freedman / Will Freedman trained OUR FUN is a daughter of Arrowfield Stud’s boom young sire DUNDEEL and was in fact, the first yearling by the sire sold at auction in 2017.
OUR FUN was ridden perfectly by Christian Reith and despite being awkwardly weighted at 57.0kgs on debut against the boys, she was too strong in winning in Race 5, the Dapto Maiden Handicap over 1400m, recording a 1.5 length win over second favourite Nowyouknowmethe with another 1.3 lengths back to Murrage in third, with $2.10 favourite Kooza another 1.3 lengths further back in fourth.
The strength of this win was the way there was a steady pace set in front so it should have suited leaders to kick off the front. They ran 1:25.15 however OUR FUN rattled home from a rearward position in a quick 35.14 for the last 600m.
OUR FUN was also paid-up for BOBS, so she banked $21,740 being the $16,740 first prize cheque and a $5,000 BOBS Bonus as well.
Will Freedman was on hand to leg aboard Christian Reith. Tactically, we just wanted the filly to come out in neutral and allow our filly to balance up and let her just work into the race after straightening. We were keen to see her hit the line because we are of the opinion that the further they go the better she will be.
Christian Reith returns with Our Fun
A text book ride by Christian and a horse presented to the races in magnificent order by Freedman Racing combined to record a dominant result.
After jumping away evenly, Christian balanced OUR FUN and the filly settled toward the rear about 6 lengths off the lead on the fence. As the race unfolded, Christian just kept sneaking up along the fence, giving our debutant the rail to follow. As the field swept for home, Christian saved ground and the filly became balanced and at the 250m set sail after the leaders.
100m
25m
By the time they hit the 200m mark OUR FUN had gone to the front and with a tough, determined effort, despite getting a bit tired at the 1400m on debut, she was far too strong recording the widening 1.5 length margin.
Race caller Anthony Manton said “it’s OUR FUN in front and the debutant is too good on debut, they’re cheering downstairs - good on ya boys, Our Fun first.”
Then he added “Number 3 Our Fun, it had trialled ok, it trialled ok in an open trial against much better opposition than it met here today.”

This is yet another Winner for the Dynamic Duo – Richard / Will Freedman & Dynamic Syndications.
We are having a good run together and the filly looks like she may be able to add nicely to what is a very good pedigree page.
She is by one of the hottest sires in Australia DUNDEEL who was a brilliant middle distance horse and who will stand this season at $66,000.
OUR FUN is out of the Danzero mare FUNZERO - a winner at 1200m and a half-sister to Stakes Winner CAT D’ANTIBES and to the Dams of Golden Slipper Winner MOSSFUN and multiple stakes winner EXIMIUS.
There is little doubt that OUR FUN will be far more comfortable once she builds a foundation fitness and when the distances increase up to 1600m - 2000m and we look forward to her racing career.
This is another Dynamic result with horses we’ve purchased from Hunter Valley boutique thoroughbred nursery MARQUEE STUD. We went back to the same well again this year and purchased our Exceed And Excel x Timbourina colt at the 2019 Magic Millions.
