The strength of the 2023 Inglis EASTER Yearling Sale against these current economic headwinds provided certainty to the industry that thoroughbreds are offering gilt-edged investment opportunities when navigating into economic factors.
Not on all thoroughbreds but certainly on the cream of the crop, the high quality sector of the market, the sector where Dynamic Syndications invests into, on behalf of our Owners.
As per our previous article, what this year’s Easter sale proved yet again to our Team Dynamic Owners, there is sensational buying opportunities in January on the Gold Coast at the Magic Millions. Each year the Magic Millions sale seems strong however for the top 20% of the catalogue they are on the whole an incredible crop of athletic horses that pass through that salering and each year they represent terrific value when held against the prices paid at Easter.
Vendors tend to take yearlings based upon conformation and athleticism type to the Magic Millions because of the wonderful prizemoney on offer for those graduates, and at Easter, it’s more based upon commerciality of the Pedigrees. As a result, it proves by doing due diligence in January wonderful opportunities do exist.
Dynamic Syndications loaded up on the Gold Coast purchasing 13 high quality yearlings there. Then we purchased one super filly by Lonhro at Inglis Melbourne Premier to join our three private yearlings we purchased late last year.
Of the 17 Yearlings we added to our stables, (9 colts and 8 fillies) they were all capable on conformation and Pedigree to have made it to Easter and there is little doubt that had these been offered at Easter we would not have been able to afford to buy any of them.
We look at the Sales results from the Easter 2023 and compare these results against what we had purchased and the prices we paid for our yearlings against these Easter results: Descending Averages
