TRACK RECORD win to FRENZIED and NASH RAWILLER on the Randwick Kensington Track, Wednesday 30 September.
Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott were seen at their finest, displaying their horse husbandry and training skills for all to see at Randwick’s Kensington track on Wednesday afternoon, when our
Dynamic Syndications galloper FRENZIED (5yo g Americain x Paris Tryst) proved
too tough under a
masterclass ride by inform jet pilot NASH RAWILLER.
There is no other rider in Australia we would want aboard in a driving finish, as Nash with his
poise and balance, lifts his mounts over the line to score.
Yet another 11 out of 10 effort by Nash, combined with
the heart, sole and determination of a genuine racehorse who only wants to please, combined to produce a
spine-tingling finish to Race 3 on the programme, the Bowerman Office Furniture 2400m Benchmark 72 Handicap.
Given 58.5kgs and the widest barrier, the ride of Nash and determination of
FRENZIED saw a fighting finish to nose out
NOTABADIDEA (56.5kgs) in a 300m dogfight up the Kensington straight.
In a courageous winning effort, the runner-up had drawn a long neck in front at the 200m and despite a 2.0kg weight pull, stride by stride, Nash and
FRENZIED wore down the margin and in a desperate dive at the line, Nash pushed
FRENZIED’s head down to score by a Nose with a further 3 lengths back to
ETHERIDGE.
If ever there was an example of the
Waterhouse and Bott “BONE AND MUSCLE” it was the toughness displayed by
FRENZIED.
When the camera clicked,
FRENZIED posted a time of 2:29.90 taking
1/100th off the existing
Track Record held by Terwilliker (57.0kgs) set on 4 September 2019.
The
TRACK RECORD was unsurprising considering the incredibly quick sectionals being set by the leader
PRESSURE (J McDonald) who was running splits you would see accompanying a sprint race.
PRESSURE led from the start and Nash rolled forward on
FRENZIED to originally sit at the girth of
PRESSURE, then that horse went forward, and Nash simply slotted over to get the trail behind the leader as they turned into the back straight.
PRESSURE then got going and halfway down the back, had a 5-length break on
FRENZIED in second spot with the runner-up
NOTABADIDEA just slipstreaming behind us in third.
As the field swung into the home straight,
NOTABADIDEA had moved up to eyeball
FRENZIED as
PRESSURE gave in and dropped out.
NOTABADIDEA got a long neck in front of
FRENZIED and then it became a war of attrition. The runner up moved in and bumped
FRENZIED over the final 50m but the strength of our Dynamic Duo kept giving and they powered to the line to score.
This was a worthy result for horse, rider and ownership team desperately unlucky at his most recent start at Warwick Farm, when he got held up at a vital stage when a fast finishing runner-up by a short head.
What a remarkable horse!
FACT: FRENZIED has broken Two (2) Track Records - apart from this wonderful effort – he is also the winner of the famous
BONG BONG Cup over 1560m in Track Record time.
There would not have been many horses win a
BONG BONG Cup and
Win at Randwick both in
Track Records!
FRENZIED was purchased from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale for
$85,000 from the
Daisy Hill draft, and has now had
16 starts: 5 Wins, 1 second 2 thirds and earned $122,770.
