Dynamic Syndications promising 3yo filly NARRATED (by SNITZEL x FICTIONAL ACCOUNT by Stravinsky), did a
gap job on her rivals, recording an
eased down, widening 3.3 length Win in Race 1 at Nowra on Friday, the HQ Insurance 1400m Maiden Plate when ridden by
Brodie Loy.
NARRATED turned out in
excellent order by the
CIARON MAHER Racing Stables, headed at Warwick Farm by
Jack Bruce and the team, was
first-up off a 17 week spell but had two barrier trials leading in. Despite being on a
Heavy 9 surface and lacking in hard match fitness,
she was far too good for her peers.
The
magnificently bred filly purchased from
Arrowfield Stud who purchased back into the filly, at
Inglis Easter Sales for
$150,000, was sent to Nowra
to do a job first-up by winning and putting that on her
race record, having had 3 runs in her first preparation for a 3rd placing over 1400m on debut and then got lost second-up over 1500m at Kembla, before her 3rd and final run of that preparation, when
a close runner-up at Canterbury over 1550m.
Placed to perfection by Dynamic Syndications to get the
job done NARRATED picked up
$12,280 Winners Cheque and a
BOBS Bonus Cheque as well.
It was important for such a
well credentialed filly with an excellent black-type page, to
build her resume for a breeding barn prospect.
With a city placing already on the page, it was vital to put a win on the page as soon as possible which
we have achieved.
Her record now reads
4 starts: 1-1-1 and $29,955.
To win first up here was a big effort for our filly who we believe will be much better suited at
distances beyond a mile to 2000m.
She is built like a stayer and has the quality pedigree to match. Her Dam FICTIONAL ACCOUNT (by Stravinsky) was the Champion Female Stayer in Ireland, winning 6 races between 1600m to 3400m.
The mating of
SNITZEL over this mare
has injected a turn of foot, which was
on display in this event as she dashed away between the 200m to the 100m putting up an unbeatable margin in a few strides.
Stayers with a turn of foot are very exciting to own.
Our owners have been patient and allowed the filly the time to develop naturally without being pushed and we are confident now that she has broken her maiden at 7 furlongs, as soon as we get past a mile, there will be city wins available for this stylish individual.
Here at Nowra, she drew barrier 7 in a field of 7 runners after scratchings. Jumping away stylishly, Brodie allowed our filly to roll forward under her own speed, after our speed map had the favourite, Law Party wanting to lead and Choice Deel would also be forward to eyeball it. However, what was unexpected was the 33/1 hope Aphrodotti would want to be there from barrier 1, as its rider pushed along to hold the fence, forcing
NARRATED 4 deep as they passed the 1200m marker. Brodie recognised he was going to be stuck wide, so grabbed hold and dropped back 2 lengths, coming over and settling one pair back, tracking the favourite who had worked to the lead.
Approaching the home turn both Choice Deel and Aphrodotti were being scrubbed along whilst the favourite Law Party angled out to the middle of the track. Brodie slipped
NARRATED a little rein and the filly simply cruised up on the outside of the favourite and went
whoosh, putting 3 lengths on that runner passing the 150m. Looking at the big screen on the inside of the track, Brodie could see it was all over bar the shouting, and dropped his hands allowing
NARRATED to cruise to the line, posting a
widening 3.3 length win over Law Party with Air of Alsace finishing 4.1 lengths from
NARRATED in third spot.
