Dynamic LAMMA HILTON Records Her 6th Win When Scoring at Scone
Dynamic LAMMA HILTON Records Her 6th Win When Scoring at Scone

You would love to have a stable full of horses as honest and tough as 5yo mare
LAMMA HILTON
(Casino Prince x Georgia Blues (by Pins)) who recorded her
6th
Win from 41 starts at Scone on the final day of Autumn, when she won Race 6 on the programme, the Happy Birthday Kellie Tarrant Benchmark 66 Handicap over 1600m.
The
Brett Cavanough
trained mare has been a delight to be associated with because of her honesty and toughness.
Whilst we all accepted, she was never going to be a Saturday Class racehorse when we purchased her, the mare has tried her best and that’s all you can ask.
Purchased by Dean Watt Bloodstock (FBAA) for Dynamic Syndications from the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale exactly two years ago for a frugal
$25,000
, LAMMA HILTON at that time had a career of 17 starts: 1 Win, 2 Seconds and 2 Thirds with earning $54,670 but importantly, she had run 4th in the Gr3 Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick over 2000m on a Heavy Track.
Since then, for Dynamic Syndications owners she has recorded:
24
starts:
5
Wins,
0
Seconds,
4
Thirds and earned
$82,080
including giving her owners a thrill when winning the Tuncurry – Forster Cup.
That has taken her overall tally to
41
Starts:
6
Wins,
2
Seconds,
6
Thirds and
$136,750
She has also had a bit of bad luck along the way with some niggling injuries and sometimes, a frustrating run of pilot errors have been costly.
This preparation she suffered a stone bruise that sidelined her for an extended period between her first-up run and her second run.
During her second run, she suffered cardiac arrythmia and was forced to barrier trial again.
However, that my have been a blessing because being forced to trial again gave our filly an extra bit of foundation fitness which she drew upon in this event when storming home over the final 200m to grab victory in the shadows of the post.
In running, young apprentice Louise Day who claimed a 1.5kg allowance, had LAMMA HILTON away well and settled 3 lengths off the speed and on the fence, in 5th spot in the field of 9 runners throughout the early part of the race and stayed in this position for the first 1000m.
Approaching the home turn as the field began to bunch, Louise manoeuvred Lamma Hilton off the heels of those tiering in front of her however the horse to her outsider pushed her back into a pocket behind these leaders who were yielding ground.
Oh no – here we go again - as the race was panning out, we couldn’t get a crack at the leaders.
At the 250m LAMMA HILTON still had nowhere to go and Louise had a lap full of horse but finally, at the 220m mark a gap appeared back on the inside and without hesitation, LAMMA HILTON was switched back and was full of running.
At the 100m the eventual runner-up and $3.00 second favourite Buddy’s Ode was swooping down the outside and with momentum and clear passage, it looked all over a winner whilst Lamma Hilton was still 3rd battling away but by the 50m mark, her superior middle distance pedigree kicked in and she found the line hard to pass the leader and go on to record a tough, widening 0.28 len victory with a further length back to the $5.50 third favourite Bluesbro.
This was immensely satisfying for trainer Brett Cavanough who had to call on all his years of experience that have made him into a wonderful horseman, to get our rising 6yo mare back into the desire to race and then keep her happy and sound.
It was an excellent ride by Louise Day and her 1.5kgs had a telling difference on the result, whilst for those owners who never lost faith in their racehorse were repaid for their belief, after a run of bad luck she started at the luxurious and exceptionally generous price of $21.
LAMMA HILTON recorded her
5th
Win for Dynamic Syndications and her owners and our
44th
Race Win for this 2018-19 Racing Season. It was also our
586th
Overall Race Win.
Congratulations to our Dynamic Owners in LAMMA HILTON:
