Following the
huge $10.25 million Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday, the action switched to the sales complex with the concluding three hours of sales action to complete the
5 days of the
Premier Book One.
Dynamic Syndications only had one yearling on our radar during that session but were left stranded as our ceiling price bid of
$200,000 was countered at $220,000 and we withdrew from the battle with that yearling finding its way to another stable for the $220,000 Fall of Hammer price.
The
2021 Magic Millions Book 1 Premier Session concluded with the following statistics:

It was a
mixed set of emotions for the
Dynamic Syndications Team.
On the racetrack we achieved excellent results over the 2 Day carnival.
Day 1 YAO DASH was successful
WINNING the
$250,000 Magic Millions Rising Star banking
$145,000.
Day 2 we were so close but just missed out when
ELABORATE banked $90,000 when finishing
3rd in the $1m Subzero over 2400m and
YAO DASH banked another
$45,000 when he was 0.6 length away when
4th in the $1m Magic Millions Cup over 1400m. Whilst
TEXCEL picked up $2,500 when close up in the $250,000 Magic Millions Maiden 1200m and
DECROUX picked up $10,000 when he wasn’t far away in the same race as
ELABORATE, but he had bad luck in the run when he got his tongue over the bit in the early stages and his breathing was restricted, so his effort was
very brave.
At the sales, we leave the complex with still
plenty of ammunition to spend at future sales.
The overall strength of the sale, and
as professional bloodstock valuers, our refusal to pay
“overs” for any yearling, resulted in us being the direct
underbidder on a further
7 yearlings during the 5 sale days,
"oh the joys of a thoroughbred auction."
However, we worked extremely hard prior to the sales and the harder you work the luckier you become.
We are extremely proud of these eight (8) highest quality yearlings which have joined our team in 2021.
Amongst them was the
FASTNET ROCK x DANCE MIX Bay Colt which set a personal milestone for Team Dynamic, becoming the highest price we have paid at a yearling sale for any
COLT and the price matches the price we paid in 2020 for a Filly.
Also, we lived our personal dream when
purchasing our first FRANKEL (GB) Yearling. These
FRANKEL yearlings are
as rare as hens’ teeth in the Southern Hemisphere and to buy him was another true highlight.
At the conclusion of the Magic Millions Premier Book 1 catalogue, there had been
306 Individual purchasers recorded across the 777 yearlings to sell.
By NUMBERS purchased,
DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS / DEAN WATT BLOODSTOCK (FBAA)
had secured
8 yearlings which placed us in
16th position on the
BUYERS Register.

Considering the COVID circumstances and boarder closures,
Barry Bowditch, Katie Page and Gerry Harvey and their dedicated Team did an amazing job to pull off a special sale and the results have supported them.
Managing Director Barry Bowditch commented.
"It’s overwhelming. It's special what we’ve achieved.
“Book One of the sale rounded out with a sale gross of over $197 million with an average price of $253,848 and clearance rate of 88 per cent - all up on last year's record-breaking figures.
"To work as we’ve done in the last six months to put this catalogue together, and then to have the restrictions and the roadblocks put in place over the last month, has put this Team under immense pressure. To pull this off to the level we have is something we didn't expect. It is very special.
"I'm proud of our vendors. They have sent their very best yearlings that are ready for this sale. The buyers have seen how we've picked it. We’ve had quality horses from Lot 1 to Lot 962.
"Buyers have got a lot to race for, prizemoney is great, the race series is a fantastic fillip. They really got behind these horses and it really boosted the prices."
"It’s a huge list of buyers. When you look at the leading syndicators, then you've got the individual owners, you've got a big, big, group of trainers and you've got the stallion funds and the stud farms getting in behind these horses. It's a big, deep list and everyone has played their part. I'm speechless."
Bowditch said he was looking forward to the next couple of days comprising Books 2 and 3 and the Summer Racehorse Sale.
Book Two of the 2021 Gold Coast Yearling Sale will commence at 2pm (Qld time) tomorrow before concluding from 10am on Monday.
