Dynamic Syndications have 2 runners competing in our colours on Saturday -
DEFINE and
UNADULTERATED with both horses looking well placed to produce competitive efforts.
DEFINE
Define will be racing at Rosehill in race 7 the Gr1 Vinery Stud Stakes over 2000m. This race is restricted to the 3yo Fillies and will be run at Set Weights. Define is allocated saddlecloth #7 and drew barrier 10.
It is exiting to have a Group 1 runner on Slipper Day. It's well documented that she is consistently a strong trackworker and Chris Waller reports Define to have worked very well throughout the week. She looks great in herself having continued to train on and everyone is looking forward to Saturday's race.
Progress since the Phar Lap cannot be faulted. Craig Newitt has retained the ride. He has the benefit of having ridden her and was most impressed with the filly, Craig knows that he is riding a competitive chance on Saturday. Chris Waller commented that our filly appears quite tractable and the key for this filly is to get her to switch off and settle. With the big field there will be plenty of pressure on and we want to be strong late.
Looking at the sectionals from the Phar Lap last start it's pleasing to note that Define ran home the fastest 800m of the race. She was able to maintain her run over the concluding stages when running the second fastest 600, 400 and 200m splits behind Best Case. The filly was strong to the line and Craig commented the final 200m was her best. Taking everything into account we are optimistic that she can be running out a strong 2000m.
It is a good field of fillies on paper and there appears to be no shortage of class engaged.
We have no concerns about our own horse, luck in running will be vital and overall we would be disappointed if not finishing off strongly as we head towards the Oaks.
UNADULTERATED
He will be racing Saturday at Taree and is engaged in race 8 on the programme over 1400m. This race is timed to go at 3:25pm and Peter Graham is booked to ride.
His trainer Darren Smith reports him to be working well and the horse is bouncing out of his skin. He has clearly trained on from this first up win. Trackwork is described as pleasing and Darren reports he has been finishing off and hitting the line strongly. Unadulterated has improved over the past couple of weeks. He will strip fitter for his first up victory and 1400m should be advantageous.
Obviously, we face a stronger line up here coming out of maiden grade and statistically it's always difficult to win the start immediately after your maiden win. However, Peter Graham was keen to stick with him and he draws a decent barrier. We anticipate with average luck he will get his chance and has obvious each way claims.
