Spring flag-bearers
I AM ME
and
SAINT EMILION
both trained by
Australia's Number 1 stable
CIARON MAHER Racing
, have
headed off on
holidays
after
both horses added black-type success
to their career resumes and
significant prizemoney to their bank accounts.
I AM ME Owners are $1.445,500 richer for 4 Race Start Prep
I AM ME
had 4 race starts for her preparation, firstly
winning the Group 3 The CONCORDE over 1000m
carrying 57.0kgs with Nash Rawiller and banking
$581,000
on 7 September on a Good 4 surface defeating Bella Nipotina.
Next, she
won the Group 2 The SHORTS over 1100m,
on 21 September where on the Good 4 track with James McDonald she carrier 55.0kgs and defeated Steffi Magnetica and banked
$582,000.
Third up we arrived ready to rumble in
The EVEREST
on 19 October, but the official rated Soft 5 track was significantly worse than that down on the fence, where she was stuck from barrier 1 and she truly won’t extend on shifting / soft ground. She ran a brave race but was out of play when the rain kept falling throughout the day and she ended up 3.29 lengths behind Bella Nipotina.
Then at her fourth and final run for the preparation,
I AM ME
faced the starter in the $3m Balding and yet again the racing gods were unkind, with rain on the day washing away her confidence and she raced accordingly. She just refuses to stretch out over the final furlong and rolled to the line finishing 6.36 lengths away but still she banked another
$20,000
prizemoney.
For the preparation
I AM ME
owners saw their mare receive the
"Ying and Yang"
of racing with two good tracks and then two wet tracks.
Their mare ran in a
$1m Gr2
and a
$1m Gr3
. They had their mare make the field in the
$20m world’s richest race on turf
and run in another
$3m feature race
and on each occasion tackled the
best of the best.
For these 4 races
I AM ME banked
$1,195,500
. Then .....
I AM ME
with her two wins earned 10 points in the Sydney Sprint Series. That had her finish in third place behind Bella Nipotina (22 points) and Mazu (12 points) and for finishing in third place
I AM ME
earned a
$250,000
prizemoney bonus.
For the prep,
I AM ME owners
saw their mare deposit
$1,445,500
and in those
4 race starts
I AM ME
has taken her career resume to read:
Starts 25 =11:3:2
and
Prizemoney:
$4,409,850
+ a
$250,000
Bonus.
I AM ME
will have a
well-deserved let-up
now and be returned in a few weeks’ time to aim towards the
early Autumn races.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Ownership Team of I AM ME:

SAINT EMILION Awesome in First Racing Preparation
Wow,
what an amazing ride
SAINT EMILION
has taken his owners upon in his first race preparation. From his first of
5 races
in his
first racing preparation,
SAINT EMILION
went from winning a country maiden, to winning a stakes race, to running in a Group 1. So, the future is exciting for our 3yo colt by Snitzel.
SAINT EMILION
went to the sport on debut at Newcastle over 1350m and did things wrong in the run when an eye-catching third just 0.32 length to Interjection and Firm Agreement and the form from that race was superb with Interjection then winning again, before running fifth in the Dulcify and then 2nd at Warwick Farm. Firm Agreement went out and won, then ran third in the Gloaming and third in the Spring Champion.
At his second race start our team were very bullish he could win at Kembla over 1600m on a Heavy track. We left the sport that day with our tail between our legs, unable to identify what went so wrong when he struggled into seventh beaten 6.7 lengths. We have subsequently had to dust ourselves off and put it down to second-up syndrome and the Heavy track.
We then chose to take the easier option and sent him down the line to a maiden at Goulburn over 1600m again to give him and us confidence. The race turned out as we expected it should have the start before, and he won with a leg in the air and delivered to us his ability he had shown at trackwork when winning by 1.75 length and banked
$19,575.
So, we then chose to have a throw at the stumps and go from Maiden class to Stakes Class and jump from 1600m to 2200m, We headed south to Victoria to race in the
Geelong Classic
where
SAINT EMILION delivered
on our belief and won in sensational fashion to
score in the $200,000 Listed race and bank $
120,000.
This win gave us a
start in the $2m 2500m VRC Derby over 2500m
. Alas, the trip at this point of his development was a bridge too far. He gave us a good shout and cheer as the field thundered around the home turn but from the 250m the fuel tank was on empty. He kept battling away to the line to finish 8th of 16, 6.8 lengths from the winner and he bank
another
$40,000.
He has pulled up in
tremendous
fashion and has been packed-up and sent on holidays to build-up and mature.
What many didn’t realise, he was the youngest horse in the race foaled on
13 November 22,
so he is
technically still a 2yo
and he had achieved these results off just his first preparation, and was learning on the run how to be a racehorse.
Overall, he took his career to Starts 5 = 2:0:1 and Prizemoney:
$185,100.
Congratulations to our Dynamic Ownership Team that race SAINT EMILION:
Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr G Harvey, Horsepower Racing, Ms S T Hancock, Mr I T Gitsham, Mr M J Bulley, Mrs K Tew, Mr G J Cooper, Mr M A Wolens, Mr S P Loane, Mr L Seminara, Ellendee, Three Cruisers, Mr M P Carroll, Dynamic No 147, Dynamic No 148, Dynamic No 149, Dynamic No 150, Mr A Cranes, Mrs P Smith.
We are
looking forward to the autumn
to see how he develops, strengthens, and matures because we know he has the ability it just needs to be matched to his physical development.
ONWARDS and UPWARDS - Forever Forward!
