Our speed maps suggested that they would run this event fast early and try and get a mid-race breather before attacking from the front.
To counter this, we chose to let the speed go early and then, move up to a stalking position before balancing up into the straight. The race turned out perfectly thanks to a well-judged ride by Rachel King and our horse, which was presented in fantastic order by Jason Deamer.
When the field jumped away
SAVVY CROWN jumped on terms but was grabbed by Rachel King as per our request, and the Dynamic Duo eased into a rhythm to settle back at the rear after the first 200m.
Then as the field worked into its pattern, after 400m Rachel allowed
SAVVY CROWN to take a closer position, settling in 5th spot some 6 lengths off the speed.
From the 1000m to the 800m, Rachel allowed
SAVVY CROWN to keep improving under a controlled gallop and he pushed up into the one / one position4 lengths off the speed, as they passed the 800m.
Biding her time, Rachel kept
SAVVY CROWN balanced until the 450m, just on the point of the turn when she made her move to track up 3 and 4 deep approaching the straight.
At the 350m,
SAVVY CROWN had moved up into third spot 3 lengths off the speed and was angling to be to the outside of the two leaders down the straight.
Passing the 200m
SAVVY CROWN was closing fast and had worked into second place with the leader under heavy pressure.
Rachel King gave
SAVVY CROWN just two reminders at the 100m and
SAVVY CROWN blasted ahead under hands and heels to break the hearts of those chasing.
Rachel reported that she could have won by 10 lengths how well the horse was travelling and how much she had in the tank.
This win recorded Dynamic Syndications 683rd Overall Race Win and our 29th Race Win for this 2020-21 Racing Season.
