Trading under our two business entities, Dynamic Syndications and also under our Bloodstock Agency, Dean Watt Bloodstock, a Member Federation of Bloodstock Agents (Australia), this afternoon wrapped up an active trading period at the marathon Magic Millions Sales on the Gold Coast.
During this period, Dynamic Syndications sold two of our race mares to head off for stud duties this Spring.
On behalf of their ownership teams, we sold Lot 635 TICKLED PINK = $24,000 and Lot 693 DYNAMIC ROCK = $110,000.
Then at the National Yearling Sale, Dynamic Syndications added one additional yearling to our stable for 2017. Based upon the huge wraps we are receiving on our SIZZLING x NOVA colt we purchased at the Magic Millions in January, we are now aiming him towards the Breeder’s Plate.
We have gone back to the well, adding Lot 1812 – another well grown colt by first season sire SIZZLING (his oldest are yearlings and he is Snitzel’s only Gr1 Winning 2yo son at stud).
The colt purchased is from the proven broodmare RESHOOT (by Mossman).
Our latest yearling purchase - SIZZLING x RESHOOT Colt
RESHOOT is a daughter of Gr1, Gr3 and LR winner HOLD THAT SMILE.
RESHOOT is also a three-quarter sister to stakes winner SNAPSHOTS
and to Express a Smile (dam of stakes winners SEA SIREN, LADY DEHERE, ORATORIO, DISCORSI).
As a broodmare, RESHOOT has produced 3 good quality winners to date:
Upshot (g. by Stratum). 5 wins to 1300m, $223,785. ATC Share Care Respite Sprint H , Canterbury Park H . NSW Tatt's RC Jim Beam H, 2d Canberra RC National Sprint H., LR. ATC Tab.com.au H, Canterbury Park H, Illawarra TC AJ Bert Lillye H, 3d ATC June S. LR, Starstable.com.au H.
Imagery (g. by More Than Ready). 5 wins to 1400m in Aust. and Singapore, BRC Glenlogan Park H, Racingjobs.com.au P, QHA P, Hardy Brothers H, 2d BRC Coca-Cola Amatil H.
Shotacross the Bow (g. by Rothesay). 3 wins-2 at 2-at 1200m, 1400m $127,450 to 2015-16, SCTC Rent to Own Cars 2YO H, 3d Toowoomba Guineas. 4th BRC Gunsynd Classic, Gr.3. GCTC Vo Rogue P, Gr.3.
Our new SIZZLING x RESHOOT Colt will be offered for sale later in the year after documents have been lodged with Racing NSW.
The significant advantage this colt possesses is the fact that he is eligible for both BOBS and QTIS bonus races along with the Magic Millions Race Series. That will have the colt ideally placed to be trained in Brisbane where he can run for the excellent prizemoney and pick up QTIS bonuses as well as sneaking back over the boarder to the Northern Rivers and earning the BOBS on top of the big NSW based prizemoney.
It’s a win – win situation for his owners.
Our Bloodstock Agency business – DEAN WATT BLOODSTOCK was also active at the sales.
Under this banner, our business purchased 6 Ready to Race horses that have all shown ability and have been racing during the previous month.
We started by purchasing two 3yo fillies:
LAMMA HILTON
LAMMA HILTON 3yo Class 1 / Benchmark 61 Casino Prince x Georgia Blues (by Pins).
Winner at 2000m in 2016-17,
3rd ATC TAB Rewards 2YO P.,
4th ATC Adrian Knox S., Gr.3.
18 Starts 1-2-2 and $54,670. Last started 6 May
Winner at 2000m at Hawkesbury
Twice 2nd ~ Wyong & Kembla
Twice 3rd ~ Warwick Farm (as a 2YO) & Hawkesbury
Twice ~ 4th ATC Adrian Knox Stakes Gr3 2000m & Warwick Farm
The filly has shown good racing ability to date including a fantastic come from behind win over 2000m at Hawkesbury in her maiden victory when she ran down the VRC OAKS Winner LASQUETI SPIRIT to claim the prize on the post.
Traditionally we don’t get excited by maiden wins however not many maidens can boast beating a subsequent Gr1 Winner.
Our first purchase was Lot 740 - LAMMA HILTON has been competitive in Sydney Metropolitan grade and with a short break of 6 weeks now in progress, we believe she can be an exciting prospect over the late Spring / Summer / early Autumn. LAMMA HILTON will be aimed at the staying mares races.
A racehorse that hates wet tracks, yet she has started 10 occasions on Slow / Heavy for 0-1-1.
She has raced twice at Gr1 level, once at Gr2 and twice at Gr3 level.
Jason Coyle
Her New Trainer – Jason Coyle at Warwick Farm
5% Shares = $1,900 inc GST = Shares went On Sale Wednesday 7 June.
OVERREACTIVE
Our second purchase was lot 1685 - OVERREACTIVE 3yo Maiden by Redoute’s Choice x Reactive (by Geiger Counter).
6 starts: 0-0-0. Last started 22 April.
However when you read the formlines she is an incredible buy.
She has run 5th in the LR Gimcrack Stakes, 4th at Randwick and Kembla and 5th at Wyong.
Her dam REACTIVE won 7 races including the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate and Gr3 Tristarc Stakes.
Brad Widdup
Her New Trainer – BRAD WIDDUP at Hawkesbury – 5% Shares $2,800 inc GST = SOLD OUT
On the final day of the sale, we purchased 4 geldings in full work from the Godolphin stables.
The ex Godolphin geldings are all on their way to their new trainer BRAD WIDDUP at Platinum Park, Hawkesbury.
Having been the lead foreman at Godolphin for 10 years, until going out on his own just a few weeks ago, we purchased these horses for Brad Widdup to continue training.
Having a first-hand knowledge of each horse was a bonus and working with Brad, he identified 4 horses in the Godolphin draft that we felt would be an asset to Brad’s new stables and for our owners.
We purchased for the BRAD WIDDUP Stables on behalf of our clients:
