Dynamic Trainer GERALD RYAN Having Another Big Season

Dynamic Syndication Training Team Member Gerald Ryan is having yet another good season.

Gerald is well placed in the Top 10 NSW Trainers Premiership in 7th position with 68 winners on the board and almost $3 million in prizemoney earned by his stable.








A former Group 1 winning jockey, now a renowned Group 1 winning trainer, Gerald Ryan is considered a master at training sprinters and highly skilled at training two-year-olds.

Gerald initially took out his trainers licence in Melbourne where he had instant success with Group 1 winners Lochrae, Paint, Artic Scent and Hurricane Sky.

Gerald then explored overseas opportunities when he travelled to Malaysia for a short time but Australia was home, so he returned, but the cold mornings of a Melbourne winter had lost their appeal so he decided that he would enjoy the Gold Coast lifestyle taking out his trainer's license there in 1998.

After immediate success, Gerald was aware the big money was in Sydney, so he established a new set up at Rosehill, which is where he has been based for over 20 years.

His proven ability to manage a Group 1 horse has continued to show through top class gallopers like Snitzel, Clangalang and Melito all being polished to perfection by the master trainer.

Gerald consistently features in the Top 10 trainers in Sydney. Also on his resume is a Brisbane Trainers Premiership in 2001/02 and he has finished in the Top 5 in the Melbourne Trainers Premiership three times.

Gerald’s first major winner was in a Group 1 with Hurricane Sky in the 1994 Blue Diamond Stakes.

Whilst his best horse to date is Trapeze Artist.

This season from 61 starters in stakes races, Gerald has won 5 stakes races (8.2%) and had 18 stakes placings (29.5%). That’s a massive 23 Black Type results from 61 starters (37.7%).  
His Stakes Winning horses this season are: Standout (2), Villami, Chains of Honour, Prince of Frog.

507 Black Type First Three (26.9%)

387 Gr2 Starters: 45 Gr2 Winners (11.6%) / 68 Gr2 Placed (17.6%)

465 Gr3 Starters: 48 Gr3 Winners (10.3%) / 106 Gr3 Placed (22.8%)

758 LR Starters: 68 LR Winners (14.6%) / 106 LR Placed (14.0%)

Apart from the fact Gerald is one of the nicest guys in racing and our Owners find him approachable and easy to talk to, Gerald is a top horseman, he does a terrific job and delivers results.

In 2020, Dynamic Syndications purchased a lovely colt at the Magic Millions by exciting new sire STAR TURN from a 1/2 sister to our own champion SAVABEEL.

Gerry Harvey bred the colt and liked him so much that he purchased 25% and said he would be happy to buy up to 50% so that’s a fantastic endorsement.

Gerald was sitting at the table directly behind Dynamic Syndications at the Magic Millions complex.

When the colt was knocked down to us, Gerald leaned over and asked could he train it for us. He loved him as a type but didn’t have an order from his owners for a Star Turn, but he really liked this one.

That was good enough for us because we liked him as much as Gerald did and as much as Gerry Harvey did, so we shook hands and Gerald’s his trainer.

Our STAR TURN x COUNTY CORK Colt is located in our upcoming syndications section of our website with our decision to restrain him to the new financial year before promoting him to the public.

However, we have already reserved quite a few shares and with Gerry Harvey happy to own up to 50% there is a chance that this colt may not find his way to the public for syndication.
