Dynamic Syndications European Import GREEK HERO was facing the starter for his first Australian start and was heavily supported in betting from
$14 into $3.30 when
scoring a very impressive win at Kembla Grange on Thursday afternoon.
GREEK HERO lands a huge betting plunge when winning at Kembla on Thursday 7/5/20
GREEK HERO, a 4yo gelding by CHAMPS ELYSEES (GB) from ZA ZA ZOOM (IRE) was purchased in October 2019 by Team Dynamic at the Tattersalls Horses-In-Training Sale at Newmarket, England where he was knocked down to us for 62,000 Guineas.
In England he had
8 Starts: 2 Wins, 1 Second and looked the ideal candidate for Australia.
His record is now
9 Starts 3 Wins, 1 second.
When we did our
due diligence on him and then our vet
Dr. Tim Roberts gave us the all clear to buy him, we made
GREEK HERO a target and we purchased him along with
3 others, INVASION DAY, RECONDITE and SAINT OF KATOWICE as a package of four (4) horses we bought at their sale.

GREEK HERO after we purchased him at the Tattersalls sale in England
From the time the gavel fell, he was always heading into the stables of our
Dynamic trainers RICHARD FREEDMAN & MICHAEL FREEDMAN – FREEDMAN BROTHERS RACING.
We are having wonderful success with their stable and this is another winner the boys have trained for our top team of
Dynamic Syndications Loyal Owners.
Facing the starter for the first time in Australia, he looked an absolute treat in pre-race parading.
GREEK HERO won Race 6 the PFD FOOD SERVICES Class 2 Handicap 1500m carrying top weight of 60.0kgs with jet pilot Jay Ford in the saddle.
He held off Extreme Jewel (55.0kgs) by 0.4 length with Sky Diamonds (57.5kgs) a further 1.0 length back in third position.
Impressively they ran 1:32.06 coming home their last 600m in a slick 33.80 secs.
Whilst the positives are there to see, the race itself was certainly a challenge because the way the speed maps had anticipated the race and the way it panned out were very different.
We believed we would likely get a nice run in transit in the one out one back position. However, as the gates crashed back, after the field had gone 300m
GREEK HERO under his big weight was trapped out 3 deep without cover, 4 lengths off the leaders who were getting away with soft sectionals.
Jay Ford summed things up well and allowed
GREEK HERO to slide up to sit at the girth of the leading pair before the home turn. Then as the field swung for home, Jay asked
GREEK HERO for an effort and he dashed to the lead under the big weight. He hit a bit of a flat spot at the 200m, as the runner up tried to get close but then Jay demanded an effort and
GREEK HERO who responded beautifully to be very strong through the line and never in danger.
GREEK HERO returning a winner
This was a massive effort for a European Horse to debut in Australia, carry top weight, on hard ground, be trapped deep, and still run away from his peers sizzling home in 33.80 secs.
Jay Ford reported he was delighted with the horse and said with the hard run he was entitled to be beaten but he was never in danger and
GREEK HERO was kidding at the 200m when he found another gear over the concluding stages. He also commented there was still plenty in the tank and he was nowhere near full throttle with him.

This was a wonderful result for his Ownership Team.
GREEK HERO with his devoted strapper Abbie
GREEK HERO was syndicated among a loyal group of existing Dynamic Syndications owners. When we purchased him, some of our long term VIP owners put up their hands up to be involved and we are proud to have such a super group that race GREEK HERO:
Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mrs A T Woollett, Mr S R Freeman, Mr S B Troughton, Mr A Cranes, Mr G Georgiou, Mr G Tew, Mr L Seminara, Mr M Moullakis, Mr A D Vella, Mrs H Bolton, Mr G Rassos, Mr W R J Gabbert, Mr D F R Yesberg, Ms J D McGuffie.
Importantly, this is
another good result with our
European Imports that we race with the FREEDMAN BROTHERS.
The FREEDMAN BROTHERS train MUSHAIREB for us, which has met with good success. They also train
FIRST FOOTMAN who resumed from a spell today at Kembla carrying 61.0kgs and ran a fighting second place to the race favourite. Now we have
GREEK HERO who appears very promising and the boys will barrier trial
RECONDITE for us on Friday morning, as he gets ready for his first run in Australia.
Whilst the DYNAMIC / FREEDMAN BROTHERS / JAY FORD combination has had three (3) starters this week with ELABORATE winning at Hawkesbury, GREEK HERO winning at Kembla and FIRST FOOTMAN running second.
To be fair, we have had a big opinion of
GREEK HERO since he started in training and we had been waiting patiently for him to be ready to run. The most pleasing aspect of this win was that
GREEK HERO won on a Good 3 surface and we know he is a many lengths superior horse with some give in the ground.
We only expect him to have a one or two more runs this preparation and then he will be tipped out for a few weeks rest before bringing him back in for a late spring, summer campaign.
This was Dynamic Syndications 37th Win for the 2019-20 Racing Season and our 634th Overall Race Win.
Well Done ZORBA !
