We had done the work, the filly had passed physical and veterinary inspections. Hot off the euphoria of buying Lot 332 we had one final lot to have a fling at on Day 2 of the Inglis Classic.
Three sayings ring true “The Harder You Work – The Luckier You Get” and “All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait” finally “Patience is a Virtue.”
With just 6 lots remaining on Day 2, lot 338 was being offered by TORRYBURN Stud. It was a fabulous filly foaled 20th August by SEBRING - Champion Racehorse and now Sire of Champions.
From VICEREINE (GB) – a winner at 1m in Great Britain. She is a full sister to Stakes Winner VICTORIAN ORDER and a blood-sister to the Dam of Silver Slipper Winner DOMESDAY.
She is also a ¾ sister-in-blood to European Champion 2yo XAAR, ESPIONAGE, ZANTE.
As a broodmare she has produced 3 winners and a placed horse.
In Australia she produced EXCELEINE (trained by GAI) to win 3 races and $123,730. GAI was of the opinion this filly was a bigger, stronger and more balanced athlete than Exceleine at the same age and GAI was keen to see the filly in her stables to train.
This is a filly from a fabulous family which includes
CLOSE HATCHES – the Gr1 Winning World Co-Champion Female of 2014.
After a bidding war the filly was knocked down to Team Dynamic for the incredibly great value of $48,000. The filly belonged to a partnership and the horse had to be sold through the ring without a reserve price set.
This filly will offer sensational buying for our owners and is the least expensive filly we have purchased in 2016. There is no doubt that had the filly been sold earlier in the day, she would have sold for significantly more but by the time Lot 338 rolled through the ring, buyers had been set earlier or most had lost interest after a long day’s proceedings and headed to the bar.
As we have explained previously, the best time to buy at an auction is within the first hour of the first day of a sale or the last half hour of the second and third days. Again this has come to fruition with
Team Dynamic swooping to claim Lot 332 for $80,000 and Lot 338 for $48,000.
