Darley Australia have announced the
service fees on their
2022 roster with
18 stallions to stand across NSW and Victoria.
EXCEED AND EXCEL
Champion sire Exceed and Excel heads their roster at a fee of $132,000 as he did last year.
Whilst Street Boss (sire of Anamoe) was well received when switching to the Hunter Valley for the first time in 2021, and he has had a fee increase rising from
$55,000 to $77,000.

Darley Australia has announced its incredibly strong 2022 roster. Their 18 stallions, who will stand in New South Wales and Victoria, are
all G1 winners and offer strength, class and exceptional value.
Exceed And Excel at $132,000 (including GST) retains his premier position as top stallion, supported by
proven barn mate Street Boss at $77,000 and
sire-son Bivouac at $66,000.
The 2022 roster is remarkable and includes debuts from
three elite first-season stars:
five-time G1 winner Palace Pier ($55,000); Champion two-year-old Pinatubo ($55,000); and Victor Ludorum, a G1 winner at two and three, who will stand at $24,750.
Statistics reveal the exceptional quality of this year’s roster:
• 22 Champion titles, either on the racetrack or as sires;
• 54 G1 wins;
• 14 of the 18 stallions are an outcross opportunity for
Danehill-line mares;
• Three are Danehill line, notably Exceed And Excel and his sons
Bivouac and Microphone
plus Astern, from a daughter of Exceed And Excel; &
• 39 G1 winners sired by the seven proven stallions on the roster.
“It’s typical at this time of year to hear how exceptional a roster is. However, it’s not until you analyse the key metrics that you unearth the true measure of a roster’s quality. That sorts the wheat from the chaff. And that’s where the Darley roster excels,” said Godolphin Australia Managing Director Vin Cox.
“Consider the significance of just this one statistic: 22 Champions awards. That alone is remarkable. And when you look at what the Darley stallions continue to achieve on the track and in the sales ring, it’s a serious roster.”
With emerging sires such as
Harry Angel ($16,500), whose yearlings attracted numerous top buyers this year and
Kermadec ($16,500), already with a genuine weight-for-age star in Montefilia, it is the young stallions that stand out.
Supporting the three first-season stars are second-season sires Bivouac, the World Champion Sprinter, Ghaiyyath ($27,500), plus the world’s best racehorse, and Champion two-year-old Earthlight ($22,000).
Together with
Too Darn Hot ($44,000), Blue Point ($44,000) and Microphone ($33,000) who retired in 2020, Darley continues to offer breeders the world’s best racehorses, truly tested, well supported and at fees that enable everyone to benefit from the buoyant racing and bloodstock industry.
“Any company with a high-end product wants to offer it to the global market. Racing is now a global business and Darley is a global brand. We are fortunate to add to our homegrown stars serious horses who won Europe’s stallion-making races such as the Dewhurst, St James’s Palace, Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère, the Middle Park, the Juddmonte International and the July Cup,” said Cox.
