It was no surprise to see
FANGIRL defeat odds-on and much-vaunted
Extreme Choice filly Espiona in the
Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
FANGIRL winning the Gr2 Light Fingers S., at Randwick
FANGIRL had ended her spring preparation on a high note and has kicked off the autumn in the same manner.
The Ingham family’s
FANGIRL reeled of three consecutive wins culminating with a three-length romp in the
Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes last preparation.
Whilst
Espiona went off an odds-on favourite in the Light Fingers, she could not hold off
FANGIRL who was too strong for her stablemate to go past her and win by a long-head whilst top-class filly
Jamaea was three-quarter of a length back in third ahead of the Listed Atlantic Jewel stakes winner Zouzarella in fourth.
Trainer Chris Waller said, "She is a talented filly and we saw what she did down at Flemington on Derby Day, which is never easy for a filly to beat those boys, and she did that easily. She won with a bit of class today too,”
“I haven’t watched the replay yet, but I don’t think Hugh (Bowman) got too urgent with her, it was a bit of hands and heels and away she went.
“It will be interesting to see what comes from the race and how much they improve, and obviously others in the race as well. I think she has got a bright future.
“I don’t think there is any diverting (from the surround Stakes), which is great, and in two weeks’ time it will be on in the Surround Stakes.”
FANGIRL is the best of four winners from six to race out of the Encosta de Lago mare
LITTLE SURFER GIRL who won the Listed Reginald Allen Quality Handicap, the Listed ATC Angst Quality Handicap and the Listed Civic Stakes.
LITTLE SURFER GIRL - Dam of FUNGIRL
Bob Ingham purchased
Little Surfer Girl for
$1.5m from the Coolmore Stud draft at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
She was the lone stakes-winner for
SPECIAL HARMONY (by Spinning World), the
VRC Oaks Gr1, MRC One Thousand Guineas Gr1 and STC Arrowfield Stud Stakes Gr1 winner.
SPECIAL HARMONY
This is a very timely black-type addition to the pedigree page of our wonderful filly we purchased at the Magic Millions.
Lot 371 our JUSTIFY x PICKIN’ TIME Filly was the MOST EXPENSIVE Yearling we have ever purchased to offer for Public Syndications and when you review her website pages we have created you’ll understand why.

A fantastic type, with a strong female pedigree, and terrific genetics, our filly is the daughter of Stakes Placed 2YO PICKIN’ TIME by champion sire FASTNET ROCK.
Both FANGIRL and Our Filly share the same 3rd Dam, the Gr3 Winning 2YO MAROONED LADY.
Whilst our filly’s 2nd Dam Gambei and Gr1 winner SPECIAL HARMONY are half-sisters.
Importantly our filly is from the First Crop of world racing sensation JUSTIFY (USA) the Only Undefeated Winner of the USA Triple Crown of Racing – Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes., plus he added the Gr1 Santa Anita Derby to his resume. 6 Starts = 6 Wins inc 4 Gr1 wins.
This result was the second major piece of Black-Type addition to the PEDIGREE PAGE for our Filly since the pedigree was printed for the yearling sale.
Recently LA FAROLA (Deep Field x Europa Point) also added black-type into the 2nd Dam position when she was placed in the WATC Starstruck Stakes LR.
