FULL BLAST (
Stratum x Bridie Belle) trained by
Bart & James CUMMINGS, needs to cool his heels for a few more days until a suitable race is identified, after today’s Goulburn races were abandoned.
Following an inspection of the Goulburn course proper earlier today by SERA Stewards, the track which had received 77mm of rainfall in the previous 30 hours, was found to have surface water present and as such, was unsafe for racing. Under the circumstances today's Goulburn race meeting (Monday 18 August) was abandoned.
FULL BLAST had drawn barrier 1 with Kerrin Mc Evoy aboard and was quoted as the $3.50 pre-race favourite for Race 5.
He had trialled very well behind Dear Demi at Hawkesbury recently after an excellent first-up hard finishing 3rd at Canterbury.
A horse noted to enjoy rain affected ground, he looked ideally placed in this Bm 70 1300m event but will now look for another suitable race option within the next 14 days.
He has been accepted this morning for Canterbury on Wednesday where he drew barrier 10 of 14 with Josh Parr aboard.
