Imagine saying to your mates you own a FRANKEL!
Having
purchased two (2) cracking colts on Day 1 of the
Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale by
Champions AMERICAN PHAROAH and
SAVABEEL, we were not enthusiastic to purchase any of those lots being offered on Day 2, however we did have
one target on Day 3.
We had to be patient waiting for
Lot 568 a Brown Yearling Filly by FRANKEL (GB) ex DADDYS POPPIT (USA) (by SCAT DADDY) to enter the salering.
When the hammer fell, she left under the
new ownership of Dynamic Syndications for sensational value of
$115,000 + GST.

“As rare as hen’s teeth” is the only way you can describe finding a yearling in Australia by the Northern Hemisphere’s hottest stallion.
FRANKEL at Stud
FRANKEL is the
heir apparent to his own sensational sire
Galileo, so to own a yearling by
FRANKEL, the mare must be covered out of breeding season in the UK to Southern Hemisphere time, then be flown to Australia in foal to the champion. Next, she then must safely deliver her valuable foal in Australia and from there, it’s up to the stud to graze and raise the youngster into a commercial yearling.
When the horse you can only dream about, lives up to the pedigree page on type, it’s exciting!
Dynamic Syndications team believe she should make into a lovely
3yo sprinter / miler and
our veterinarian Dr Tim Roberts gave the filly the
green light to buy her, as she had
clean x-rays and a Grade 1 (perfect) videoscope. Our vet confirmed she was
“sound of wind and limb”, and we can buy her with confidence.
We had purchased a
colt by the same sensational sire
FRANKEL in January on the Gold Coast also from
YULONG STUD and couldn’t believe our luck when we claimed him for
$180,000 and we felt this filly was
his equal.
The boys at
YULONG STUD advised us that she would have a
realistic reserve placed upon her and confirmed with us prior the filly entering the salering, she would be on the market at
$100,000.
From Yulong’s perspective, it’s all about cashflow and meeting the market is vital to these mega breeding operations. That’s what they also did in January, when we purchased the
FRANKEL x EVENING ROSE Colt from Yulong and again, that’s what they did on
Day 1 of this Inglis Premier Sale when they put a conservative
$80,000 reserve on their Lot 238 a Savabeel Colt from Passion Cheval which we also purchased.
We valued this filly to the same level as our Frankel colt being $180,000.
Knowing she was
live on the market at
$100,000, we made sure it was
our bid of $100,000 the auctioneer was holding.
We were countered at
$110,000 and knowing we had still plenty of ammunition, we slowed the bidding down, playing
mind games and just waiting to see how many more bids would be received before coming back with a bid.
By waiting about 45 secs and with the auctioneer knowing the filly was past her reserve and therefore
on the market to be sold, the auctioneer lowered his bid call to increments of $5,000, dropping back from a $120,000 call to be asking for
$115,000.
We shot in a bid at that price, expecting to be countered but
we were delighted when the hammer dropped, and the
Frankel filly became Dynamic.

Especially one bred this way!
She has a super pedigree!
Our filly is from a 1200m winning daughter of Champion Sire – SCAT DADDY.
Sadly, he is now deceased but in his time at stud his stats were amazing.
He produced 1012 Runners achieving:
796 Winners = 79%
134 Stakes Winners 17% Stakes Winners : Winners
210 Stakes Horses = 21% Stakes Horses : Runners
Now as a Broodmare Sire SCAT DADDY is proving a statistical sensation:
236 Runners = 151 Winners = 64%
28 Individual Stakes Horses = 12% Stakes Horses : Runners
Australian owners and trainers tend to only want to buy horses by sires they know locally, and many opportunities are missed along the way.
This could prove to be another marvellous purchase.
LOVE TAP winning the Gloaming Stakes
Two years ago, we bought
LOVE TAP - a son of champion US sire
TAPIT for just
$110,000 and he’s already a
stakes winner.
FRANKEL is a son of champion sire Galileo, and this genetically works well with daughters of
Johannesburg (by Hennessy), the sire of
SCAT DADDY.
It’s a genetic rating of
A+ 616% in Australasia and the female pedigree has a huge Quality Rating Score of
79%.
Because the filly was owned, bred and raised in Victoria, she also becomes eligible for the
Super VOBIS and VOBIS GOLD schemes bonus prizemoney under
Category B and we will be paying the entry fee into that series, as well as the
INGLIS Race Series.
She heads to the inform stables of
CIARON MAHER RACING to take advantage of the
VOBIS scheme.
This filly will also have good residual value and could well become a
once in a lifetime opportunity.
Don’t delay finding out more and
reserving your ownership opportunity.
