A handsome bay first foal colt out of
champion 3yo filly FIRST SEAL has topped the Australian Easter Yearling sale at
$1.8 million.
Sale Topper - $1.8 million Snitzel x First Seal Colt purchased by Coolmore Stud
Coolmore Stud boss Tom Magnier was the successful bidder for the colt by champion sire Snitzel from the champion filly after a determined bidding duel.
First Seal (by Fastnet Rock) was bought as a yearling for
$700,000 at Karaka and was given time to mature by John Thompson, starting just once at two for a fourth placing.
FIRST SEAL - 3 times beat WINX home to claim Champion Female Sprinter in 2015-16
As a spring three-year-old,
First Seal famously had the better of Winx beating her home three times including the Group 1 ATC Flight Stakes and the Group 2 ATC Tea Rose Stakes.
She was crowned
Champion Female Sprinter in Australia in 2015-16 finishing with
6 wins including a
Gr1 and 4 x Gr2 races.
