Four More for Day 4 MAGIC MILLIONS 2024

DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS are delighted with our incredible day’s shopping on the Gold Coast as we added 4 fabulous yearlings to our stable of stars as the tally grows to 10 yearlings from the 2024 Magic Millions.

In a sale that is extremely strong, there has been some terrific buying as well, in a market described beast as “patchy.”

Having inspected 380 yearlings, with a short list down to 129, then that list being vetted and reduced to 102 yearlings that passed our Veterinarian on Physical Inspections, X-Rays and Videoscope, it was a matter of sitting patiently as lot after lot enters and leaves the salering, with now 10 coming home with Team Dynamic.

With one eye on the economy and the other on value, we had acquired 6 yearlings over the first 3 Days:

On Friday 12 January, it was Day 4 at the Magic Millions. Having purchased 6 yearlings already we had met our own self-imposed quota of Magic Millions Yearling purchases we wanted to take home this year. So we were only going to be incredibly selective going forward and should a horse slip through the net we would pounce, otherwise we would keep our powder dry for other sales.

So unexpectedly, and much to our delight, we were able to add 4 more lovely youngsters to the tally. We were able to purchase:

At these prices, we simply couldn’t say no. We had done all the due diligence work, they all were sound and right of wind and limb. We rated them highly as physicals, and as the buying bench thinned out, as purchasers had filled up earlier at higher prices and run out of money, rare gems presented themselves.

Knowing the reserves set by the vendors prior to heading into the salering is a huge advantage for a buyer, and our working relationship with the vendors of Day 4 purchases gave us a head start.

On each occasion we were able to wait until the reserve was ready to be met with a salering bid and ensured Team Dynamic were either holding that bid or the next bid. Then as the gavel fell, we had bought exceptionally well.

We were on the board 14 lots into the session when Lot 706 the Arrowfield Stud consigned Colt for South African and English based owners.

LOT 706 KINGMAN (GB) x GENA (FR) Bay Colt $160,000 + GST

By Sensational Sire KINGMAN entered the ring. Originally set with a $200,000 reserve, a conversation earlier in the day between the stable and us and the vendors saw the reserve lowered to $160,000. We had that for the horse, believing that the yearling would sell for more but at least it gave us a fighting hope. We engineered the bid to ensure we landed on $160,000 and there was no counter, and the colt was knocked down our way.

They don’t come any better bred genetically than this colt.

KINGMAN (GB) (Invincible Spirit), is one of the Top 5 Sires in the World. He stands in England for £125,000, the equivalent of AUD $225,000 at Juddmonte Farm.

Summary

Sire of 27 individual stakes winners in 2023, including four new Gr.1 winners, Prix du Moulin de Longchamp winner Sauterne, Grand Prix de Paris winner Feed The Flame and Australian-breds Zardozi and 2YO King Colorado, as well as Group winners Habana (German 1000 Guineas), Royal Ascot Group winner Age Of Kings, Schnell Meister, Remarquee etc.

His 2023 yearling average is £322,153 for 33 sold, including a 900,000gns colt at Tattersalls October Book 1

The second fastest stallion to 50 Northern Hemisphere-bred stakes winners (in 1703 days) behind only Frankel.

He reached this milestone faster than Galileo (1752 days), Deep Impact (1752 days) and Dubawi (1759 days)

The best son of sire of sires Invincible Spirit, out of Classic winner Zenda - a half-sister to leading sire Oasis Dream

In 2023 he has sired 15 individual Group winners including Group 1 winners Sauterne (Prix du Moulin), Feed The Flame (Grand Prix de Paris) and Australian-bred two-year-old King Colorado (J. J. Atkins).

He remains one of the world’s most commercially attractive sires with a yearling average of more than £340,000 (AUD $610,000).

GENA (FR), the Dam of our Colt is by sensational French based Sire SIYOUNI (by Pivotal).

GENA (FR) was a winner of 2 races in France at 1300m-1600m including the Chantilly Prix de Survilliers. She is a half-sister to Stakes Placed DARK LION.

Our COLT is the mare’s First Foal.

Second Dam GRACIOUSLY (by Shamardal) won 3 races 1400m-2000m, Saint Cloud Prix des Falaises de Craies. She is a Half-Sister to GIOFRA - Gr1 Winner and Champion Older Female in GB in 2012.

GRACIOUSLY is a Half-Sister to BIG BAZ, dual Stakes Winner, also to Stakes Winner GRANARA, and to GOMATI, Champion Older Male in Bahrain in 2019-20.

GRACIOUSLY is also a Half-Sister to Stakes Placed GRACE SPIRIT (by Invincible Spirit).

GENA (FR) was sent to Australia from England in foal to KINGMAN (GB) bred to a Southern Hemisphere Service.

The cross of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (Sire of Kingman) over PIVOTAL (Sire of Siyouni) is responsible for 18 Stakes Winners.

A typical type of Northern Hemisphere style of individual, our colt is quality. He is an athletic, neat, type, well balanced, with a good action good overstep. He meets all Key Performance Indicators.

To have the hammer knocked down on our bid of $160,000 having reduced their reserve from $200,000 t $160,000 following our request was fabulous and it’s a saving we can pass onto his new team of Owners.

Just 30 minutes later the next of our conquests entered the salering and left under the ownership of Dynamic Syndications.

LOT 729 THE AUTUMN SUN x GRAVITY ZERO Bay Colt
$90,000 + GST

Lot 729 was the best yearling on type we found through the draft of Arrowfield Stud at the sale. He was just a beautiful horse.

We now add in the fact that he was also the Best Bred Genetically in their draft. He rated an impressive A+++ by genetics, A+++ by Geographical performances and Q7 on depth of pedigree. That placed him in the Top 5 lots in the catalogue by balance of pedigree.

A product of a Joint venture between the breeder Hermitage and Arrowfield Stud, he was sent for sale to meet the market. A modest reserve of just $80,000 was set and we knew we were in with a brilliant opportunity. As the gavel fell it was our bid at $90,000 that was the winner.

By THE AUTUMN SUN (Redoute’s Choice) the champion racehorse is doing a good job as a young 2nd Crop sire.

He is currently in 3rd spot on the second crop sires list by Winners and Earnings (Trapeze Artist, Justify). He has 2 stakes winners this season with 14 winners at a strike rate of 30.4%.

He stands at $66,000

GRAVITY ZERO (More Than Ready) is the Dam of our colt. A Winner at 1200m, this is her First Foal.

She hails from a wonderful South African female pedigree.

HAPPY VALENTINE (by Silvano) is the Second Dam. She was a Gr1 Winner of 3 races – 2 at 2 – and the Dam of 3 foals to race to date – 2 Winners.

HAPPY VALENTINE is a 3/4 Sister to HAPPY SPIRIT – Gr2 Winner and Gr1 placed.

HAPPY VALENTINE is a 1/2 Sister to Gr2 Winner, Stakes Placed and twice Gr1 performer HAPPY FOREVER.

This is a deep black-type female family. The genetic cross is sensational.

REDOUTE’S CHOICE (Sire of The Autumn Sun) over MORE THAN READY line Broodmares has produced 24 Stakes Winners including 6 Gr1 Winners: CELEBRITY QUEEN, REDIENER; MIRCALES OF LIFE; SHINZO; MEDIA AWARD and GRIFF.

A Pedigree not instantly recognisable in Australia, the genetics are superb and the individual matched the rating score.

He was rated an 8 by our team which matched the highest rating we gave to any horse at the sale.

Next up was the horse we had identified early in inspections back on the 3rd January as the horse we would love to take home.

Offered by Segenhoe Stud, he was one of our main targets at the sale.

LOT 761 BIVOUAC x HOUSTON BENEFACTOR (Encosta de Lago)
Chestnut Colt $140,000 + GST

This colt was a lovely horse, athletic and correct, he hit all our markers of a horse we want to own. Importantly we had owned and raced his 3/4 Sister WE HAVE LIFT OFF who was a Sydney Winner and 4th in a Listed Race in Brisbane.

BIVOUAC (Exceed And Excel) is the exciting new boom sire that has the market talking up his progeny. Co-Champion 3YO Male Sprinter in Australia in 2019-20. He won 7 races 2 at 2 and over $5.6m and 3-time Gr1 Winner of the ATC Golden Rose, VRC Newmarket and Sprint Classic.

BIVOUAC stands at $66,000 Service Fee at Darley.

HOUSTON BENEFACTOR (Encosta de Lago) won 3 races and was Stakes Placed.

She is a sister to SOVEREIGN NATION, 3/4 sister to PRINCESS COUP (Dam of AGENTIA, THEWIZARDOFOZ), 1/2 sister to RECOINAGE, PHILIZZY.

Dam of 6 foals to race 3 Winners and 2 placed.

Bred on a successful cross of Exceed And Excel over Encosta de Lago there are 9 Stakes Winners bred this way.

The mare has seen her foals sell for: 24 Bivouac $140,000 (Dynamic Syndications), 22 Not A Single Doubt $725,000, 20 Snitzel $600,000, 18 Snitzel $350,000, 16 Exceed And Excel $170,000 (Dynamic Syndications).

LOT 794 FARNAN x INVINCIBLE DIVA (IRE) (Invincible Spirit)
$100,000 + GST

Wow this is a cracking sort. A fantastic filly from the first crop of sensational Golden Slipper Winner FARNAN.

Champion 2YO in Australia in 2019-20. Everyone knows that Slipper Winners make sires and FARNAN is destined to join the honours list.

A speed demon, FARNAN won 5 races at 2 including: Golden Slipper Gr1, Todman Slipper Trial Gr2, Silver Slipper Stakes Gr2, Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

FARNAN (by NOT A SINGLE DOUBT) stands at Kia Ora Stud for a Service Fee of $55,000.

INVINCIBLE DIVA (IRE) (by Invincible Spirit) is an Irish mare that was purchased to be a broodmare in Australia. Our filly is her first foal.

INVINCIBLE DIVA was a 2yo winner in Ireland at 5 furlongs (1000m).

INVINCIBLE DIVA is a 1/2 Sister to PAINTED CLIFFS (Canford Cliffs) 2 wins at 2 at 6 furlongs, inc Curragh Railway S., Gr2, 4th Curragh Pheonix S., Gr1.

Second Dam LULAWIN is an unraced 3/4 Sister EXCELLENT ART – Champion 3YO Miler in GB & Ireland in 2007. 4 wins – 3 at 2- to 1 mile. Royal Ascot St James’s Palace S., Gr1.

Third Dam OBSESSIVE is a Winning Stakes Placed 2yo.

Whilst 4th Dam SECRET OBSESSION is a daughter of champion Secretariat.

This filly is a natural 2YO in waiting.

Well grown, strong and athletic, she was the only filly we gave a rating of 8 to in the sale. Matched to a Grade 1 Videoscope and clean X-Rays, she is an absolute brute of a filly that will be given every opportunity to win the Magic Millions 2yo Classic this time next year.

We believed she would be sensational buying at 3-times Service Fee ($150,000) but when we found the reserve was $100,000, we made sure we landed on the 2-times Service Fee marker and were over the moon with excitement that we have secured a genuine hope in the 2yo lottery of 2025.
