James Cummings, who trains Hallowed Crown in partnership with his legendary grandfather Bart, was given his first Group 1 success when the colt by Street Sense claimed Sydney’s premier three-year-old sprint on September 13.
"I am honoured and delighted to be given this opportunity,” James said. "I have watched the Darley, and now Godolphin operation, evolve in Australia and to be given a chance to train a horse they have a major stake in, is beyond words for me.
"Sheikh Mohammed is a man that obviously has true passion for the thoroughbred and I am extremely grateful that he and Gooree have the confidence in us to leave Hallowed Crown under our care.
"The thing about opportunities is you never know where they will lead.”
Henry Plumptre, Darley’s Managing Director in Australia said, "We are delighted to secure a share in Hallowed Crown, particularly as he is a grandson of our champion stallion Street Cry.
“Hallowed Crown has proven himself as one of Australia’s best young colts and we look forward to racing him on with
Mr Cojuangco’s Gooree Park Stud in the autumn, and then
Hallowed Crown joining our stallion roster at the end of his racing career.”
MONICA CUMMINGS
Monica Cummings, Racing Manager for Gooree Park Stud said, "It is an honour for us at
Gooree Park Stud to be entering into a partnership with a worldwide industry leader in
Darley.
“
Mr Eduardo Cojuangco has a lot of admiration for the work of
HH Sheikh Mohammed and is looking forward to the future racing of
Hallowed Crown in this new arrangement.”
Hallowed Crown has a fine stallions’ pedigree on his female side being from the
Golden Slipper runner-up Crowned Glory, a Danehill (USA) mare, from the family of champion sire Zabeel.
