Dynamic Syndications sends out a big “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to our entire team of gallopers.
Today is the 1st August, and in the Southern Hemisphere it’s the official Horses’ birthday.
All thoroughbreds from an administrative position are considered to have the same birthday so that their age groups can be a standardised comparison for competition.
This process was established because of the historical lack of records of actual foaling dates.
However in modern times, horses actual foaling date are recorded with the Australian Stud Book and stud books around the globe, but that actual foaling date is of little consequence due to industry standardisation.
Naturally however, horses foaled earlier in the breeding season will have an early physical advantage on the racetrack during their 2yo and early 3yo seasons, based upon maturity and physical development but once a horse matures into the autumn of their 3yo season that advantage ceases.
When a horse is foaled down (born), the foal is termed a "weanling" until the 1st August the following calendar year, where its status changes again and it is termed a "yearling".
The following August 1st those yearlings become 2 year olds and each year the process repeats.
As all horses turn another year older today, we trust we will see continuing good performances on the track from Dynamic runners as we aim to improve on the 55 Race Wins our horses achieved in the 2017/18 season.
The 2yo racing season will commence early October.
We are excitedly awaiting the progression of the 21 yearlings we purchased in 2018 who became 2yo’s today.
Once again, we want to wish our entire DYNAMIC Stable "Happy Birthday" and we wish the best of racetrack luck to them and all their Ownership teams in the 2018/19 racing season.
