HAT TRICK of WINS for DYNAMIC DEAMER with HARD TO SAY
HAT TRICK of WINS for DYNAMIC DEAMER with HARD TO SAY

HARD TO SAY
has made it
three (3) Saturday City Wins in a Row
to start his preparation for his
Dynamic Team of Lady Owners
and Trainer
JASON DEAMER
when stopping the clock under an easy hands and heels of
jockey
Ash Morgan
just 0.15sec outside the
Class 6 record
of 56.39 over 1000m at
Eagle Farm.
Having won over
1100m Bm72 at Rosehill
on the 5th August when resuming this prep, he then went to
Doomben
on 26 August for an easy win in a
Class 3 1050m.
Then on Saturday he was presented into the Peachester Lodge Handicap at
Eagle Farm,
a
Class 6 1000m
event, and was simply too good in a Time:
56.54
and a Last 600m: 33.22.
HARD TO SAY
(4yo g Exceed And Excel x Malasun) took his career record to:
15
Starts:
5
Wins,
1
Second,
1
Third and
$302,805
.
4
of his
5 wins
have been Saturday victories
providing his
all-ladies ownership team a lot of fun
for their
$160,000 Magic Millions purchase.
He has been placed to perfection and the owners have been banking the cheques.
Earlier in his career as a 2yo he showed plenty of talent. On debut he was
fourth in the Breeders Plate Gr3
to Sejardan and Zambezi River. He was also
runner-up in the Phelan Ready S. LR.
He resumed as a 3yo being placed at Eagle Farm before
winning his maiden at Wyong
over 1000m.
Then after that he was a bit of a handful, as his concentration and alpha male tendencies were not ideal and a few times he threw races away. Then Ash Morgan rode him one day at the Sunshine Coast transferred Saturday meeting where there was a QTIS bonus available, and
HARD TO SAY won by 3.3 lengths
in record time.
This time in as a 4yo, the horse has
matured mentally
and is happy to work with the riders and as a result, his trainer can polish him up and the results are flowing.
On Saturday we felt he was thrown into the race carrying just 56.5kgs having
won his last 2 races
but jumping up in class allowed him the weight drop.
We came up with barrier 2 and the draw was ideal with the speedy Hold on Honey drawn the rail, and we anticipated it would jump and run. We would either go with it but if that runner wanted to go to fast, we would take a sit and let it do the donkey work and peel off its back as we enter the straight.
The race panned out perfectly as per our speed map. As the gates crashed back, Hold On Honey dashed forward and was challenged by a couple who had drawn wide and wanted to get across. That put a lot of speed into the first couple of furlongs. Ash watched it unfold, 3 lengths back on the fence trailing Hold On Honey who held the lead on the paint. As the field swung into the straight, the riders had been angling 3-4 deep off the fence throughout the programme believing the better going was out there.
Then, as the field balanced for the run home, Hold On Honey who had a 2.0kg pull in the weights on us, had angled to the best part of the track and was off and gone.
Ash waited, knowing he had a lap full of horse under saddle, and passing the 200m set out to give chase. Ash switched back underneath Hold on Honey to be two off the fence and started reeling in the leader.
Passing the 100m Ash drew up to eyeball the leader before quickly pulling away just under hands and heels as the early leader couldn’t match the class of
HARD TO SAY
. There is no doubt that had Ash asked
HARD TO SAY
for a competitive effort, he would have smashed the class record.
As the camera flashed
HARD TO SAY
(56.5kgs) ($3.0 Fav) defeated Hold On Honey (54.5kgs) ($4.20) by 0.84 length with Maximum Output (52.0kg) ($5.50) 1.56 lengths third.
Post-Race Jason Deamer was interviewed for Sky Channel.
Bernadette Cooper
said to
Jason
:
“We love that you love to bring him up here. Well done”
Jason replied:
“Thank you Bernie, yes I think overall he’s probably had more starts up here than back home (8 Queensland / 7 NSW), so he knows that highway very well, and he knows Mel Eggleston’s place (the stable where he stays) so it’s a big thank you to them, because without them, I wouldn’t be able to do it."
Bernie then said
:
“He’s got such a great record, what heights do you think he can get too?”
Jason responded:
“Well he’s always shown us a bit with his early form as a 2yo, running in those Gr3 and Listed Races and there for a while he hit a bit of a flat spot. Then we got him gelded and that seems to have really turned him around.
“It all goes with confidence, this time in he’s really switched on and racing well and hitting the line well, so long term, if there is a suitable race, we can stretch him out a little bit. He is a Magic Millions horse which is obviously a big target. I’m just happy to win races and it’s a huge thank you to Dynamic Syndications, they put a lot of faith in me so its good to repay them.”
Bernie added:
“You do such an amazing job, your horses look extraordinary, and you have been very smart with this horse and made the most of that cash cow of having him ready to go in our off-peak season.”
Jason answered:
“Yeah that’s right, and he was a QTIS horse so that race he won at the Sunshine Coast was worth a bit of money to him.
“It’s just great to make the trip up, and my daughters live up here so it’s good to have a win with them here.”
Bernie said:
“Oh, there pretty proud of dad today, well done.”
Jason finished with
“Thank you.”
Next
Bernadette interviewed jockey Ash Morgan
and started by saying:
“That win was even stronger today, well done.”
Ash Morgan said:
“Thank you. Yes, I thought he was better today for sure. I just loved the way the race mapped for us, with Hold On Honey being the leader, and I was able to get that suck run in behind and I travelled really, really well.
“That’s how I always wanted to ride him, right there and he’s had a really good dash. His work on Tuesday morning was exceptional for this type of grade of race and I just loved the way he quickened up, then levelled up, and knuckled down and went away again. He’s flying the horse, Jason is doing a great job.”
Bernie than added:
“Yes he is indeed and your patience there was extraordinary, just wait, wait, curled up, having him ready to go.”
Ash answered:
“It helps that I know the horse really well, and I know what he’s capable of, so I was never too stressed. I had a nice run, hadn’t done any work, and I was just waiting for that nice turn of foot that I know he has. He was very good.”
CONGRATULATIONS to the team of Ladies that Own and race HARD TO SAY:
Dynamic Ladies Synd (Mgr: Mrs F Watt), Mrs C Freeman, Mrs A T Woollett, Mrs B A Reid, Mrs K Corby, Mrs H Corby
That was Dynamic Syndications
9th
race win for the new season and our
837th
Race Win overall.
Onwards and Upwards – Forever Forward!
