HI Class Way to Debut For DUBAI as Our 3yo Filly Bolts In By 4 at Canterbury

Yet again it proves
"horses don’t know how much you pay for them,"
as
Dynamic Syndications 3yo Filly
HI DUBAI
(Highland Reel x Eureka Dubai), a
$30,000
Inglis Classic Purchase for Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock,
faced the starter for the first time and came away
trouncing
her rivals by
4 lengths
eased down,
when
Winning Race 2
the
FURPHY Handicap
a 3yo Fillies Maiden over 1100m at Canterbury on Friday Night.
HI DUBAI
(59.0kgs) ($5.00 Favourite)
defeated DOUBLE SCOOP (57.0kgs) ($16) by
3.97 Lengths
with XTRAVAGHAN (59.0kgs) ($6.0) in third place
4.9 lengths
behind
HI DUBAI.
Trained by Gai and Adrian
, and ridden by
our leading jet pilot NASH RAWILLER,
we have always known she has an abundance of talent, and that rare commodity of genuine speed, but knowing it and proving it are two different things, and we had to wait until now to take the wraps off our filly and take her to the sport.
She didn’t let her Owners and Connections down with a brilliant display.
She had trialled three times previously for
three trial wins
and she kept that sequence going when converting her trial form to the racetrack.
In a Field of 11 runners after scratchings,
HI DUBAI
jumped from barrier 9, but from the time the field had gone 50 metres she was a length in front, and after 100m she was leading on the fence and as they say,
“the rest is history.”
A brilliantly judged race tempo by Nash, ensured
our filly led throughout
but importantly, Nash got away with two soft sectionals between the 800m to 600m and the 600m to the 400m.
Then as she swung for home and balanced at the top of the straight with 300m to run it was all over as Nash pushed the
“go button,”
and our Dynamic Duo accelerated away and with Nash just riding hands and heels, such was the domination Nash looked at the big infield screen, and then at the 100m had a sustained look over his left shoulder to make sure nothing was coming as by now our pair were idling down to a canter and then Nash had the luxury to put on the brakes over the final 4 strides and the Winning Margin was still 4 lengths with a length between second and third.
Nash Rawiller
returned to the
Winner’s Circle
and reported:
NASH bringing HI DUBAI back to the Winners Circle
“Oh she’s been push button in her early stages of her career, she’s done everything right in the trials and really shown her form and it’s always a nice relief when they bring that to the races.
“She’s got the scope to go right on with it, she’s obviously a very precocious filly but she’s got scope and I think they’ll be looking forward to a nice future with her. She’s got well above average natural ability, we just hope she continues to go there.”
Originally identified to be inspected in the first instance by
TEAM DYNAMIC
at the
Inglis Classic,
based upon the brilliance of the pedigree genetics, to our Team this filly had
flashing lights
on her pedigree page.
It wasn’t the depth of black type that drew us to the page, because to be fair it is light in that department, but rather it was because she was from a tough female family.
The Dam
EUREKA DUABI
by
DUBAWI
was a
true speed machine winning
8
races at 1000m.
Eureka Dubai
However, having the knowledge that
GALILEO mated so brilliantly with DUBAWI mares
was a bonus.
Plus, the genetics of the mare that
HIGHLAND REEL
was crossing with appealed as this
mare EUREKA DUBAI
was as tough as nails and naturally gifted with true speed, so was a major spark of interest.
Then most people remember
HIGHLAND REEL
here in Australia performing at the elite level over distance. However, he was a world traveller, racing in many jurisdictions. He was gifted and tough and could sprint as well as stay.
The rarity of having a first crop yearling by the
Champion Racehorse HIGHLAND REEL
- who is a Son of the sensational Champion Sire
GALILEO
was important, but being mated over a mare by
DUBAWI
the Most Expensive Sire at Stud in Europe was very appealing.
It’s the mixture of the bloodlines of these two champion sires which appealed and is fantastic but more so, when these lines are mated, there had been
6 Stakes Winners
on the exact cross including a Gr1 Winner, Gr2, Winner, 2 x Gr3 Winners and 2 Listed Winners.
When the filly was presented from the box at the stables,
Dean
said to
Adam and our vet Dr Tim Roberts
“we are buying her.”
She was athletic, correct, a little feminine and refined, a bit immature so she wasn’t a natural 2yo type but was going to develop into a lovely 3yo and she had a brilliant bio-mechanical action.
It was
love at first sight
and you could see the high-class genetics in the physical conformation of the filly.
The breeder / vendor knew what he was trying to achieve when he mated his mare with
HIGHLAND REEL
and the physical product was
gorgeous.
However, we thought she wasn’t in the right sale and could be marked down on value as a result.
We thought she should have been in the
Inglis Melbourne Sale
where the
sire was standing in Victoria
and the filly was VOBIS eligible but not BOBS. So, for the local NSW buyers would not have the appeal, it was limiting her marketability.
Our job is to syndicate winners and she looked an equine athlete of class and substance. When our vet Dr Tim Roberts passed her on X-Rays and Endocopic evaluation, she became our target.
HI DUBAI as a yearling at the sales after we purchased her for $30,000
To own her at
$30,000
was an absolute bargain, and her opening racetrack adventure has banked
$25,400
first prize.
Congratulations to our Team of OWNERS that race HI DUBAI:
Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr R J Gall, Ms T L McManus, Mr A C Clarke, Mr D P Lacey, Mr PJ Wimpey, Mrs C J Laing, Mr L T Duignan, Mr J J Cleveley, Mr M N O'Connor, Mr D Uren, Mr T Ticina, Gallop Schnell, Mr A Stewart, Mr M F O'Reilly, Why Racing, Mr S J Brereton, Mrs H L Hohn, Mrs N M Leyton.
This win by
HI DUBAI
was Dynamic Syndications
10th
Metropolitan Race Win
and our
27th
Race Win
for this Current Racing Season.
She also recorded Dynamic Syndications
797th
Overall Race Win.
Importantly
HI DUBAI
became Dynamic Syndications
280th
Individual Winner
from
325
Individual Runners, which is an amazingly successful, thoroughbred industry leading
86.2%
Winners to Runners.
Onwards and Upwards!
