IBINI Scores Again at Scone to Record Dynamic Win Number 53 for 18-19 Season

Congratulations to outstanding horseman Brett Cavanough and to jet pilot Keegan Latham on the job they did with IBINI (4 g Commands x Chaste) who won his 4th Race in 14 starts when leading from start to finish for a dominant win over 1400m at Scone.

IBINI wins at Scone 22/7/19

IBINI won the Horsepower Class 3 Handicap over 1400m starting top weight carrying 59.5kgs and spotting all his opponents weight but he made light work of the weight and his opposition winning by 0.85 len over Da Power with Star Alibi 2.7 lens away in third.

Trainer Brett Cavanough was confident he had our honest galloper spot on for this assignment and he was proven to be right.

IBINI has now raced 14 Starts: 4 Wins; 4 seconds; 3 thirds and prizemoney of $77,235.

Nosed out by promising galloper Smoodge to be runner-up last start at Newcastle, after a gallant second placing the run prior to that, IBINI deserved this win.

Originally 12 acceptors in this event, there were 5 scratchings on race morning reducing the field to 7 runners and whilst we believed IBINI rated clearly on top, we were amazed that the market were betting around him and he started at the luxury odds of 7/1 in a field of 7 runners, paying $7.80 for the win.

In this field our speed map had us leading with ease and knowing we were rock hard fit and very tough, if we bowled along and controlled the tempo he would prove hard to run down and that’s exactly how the race panned out.

Keegan fired our horse out of the barrier to lead a length on settling and then ran them along at comfortable 12 second splits, spreading them out over 10 lengths as they swung for home. Keegan hit the go button and dashed 2 lengths in front of second favourite Da Power who was no match for him and he maintained an easy margin in the run to the post.

IBINI returns a Winner !

TV Commentators interviewed Brett Cavanough after the race where Gary Harley said it was “ALL HONOURS with IBINI.”

Trainer Brett Cavanough responded “Yeah, fit horses win and you shouldn’t read into form too much. I looked at the favourite’s form and they were not that good and I doubted her and he’s a fit horse and I thought he went super the other day and didn’t have any favours at Newcastle, but back on his home track that’s 53 (wins) now for Dynamic – I just got around you Will Freedman with your number 52 at Goulburn earlier (laugh) but - they’ve been great support Dynamic.

“He’s been a nice horse this horse – he’s just wanted a bit of cut in the ground but unfortunately we’ve been in a drought. He’s a pleasure to train and probably one of the better horses in the stable at the moment.

“He has to carry a bit of weight here 59.5kgs - He’s a progressive horse, a good ride, run them into the ground when you’re fit and take no prisoners and that’s what he did.”

Pilot Keegan Latham said “for a sec I thought I may have been going a bit quick but he was enjoying himself out there and he wasn’t doing that much with his ears pricked and I didn’t want to break his stride so I just let him enjoy himself and I thought he won with a bit in hand today.”

This was also our 595th Race Win overall.
