On a day of trade that saw confidence in most facets of the market, it was the Written Tycoon x Sylvia’s Mother colt that topped proceedings, selling to Tony Fung Investments and Inglis Millennium-winning trainer Annabel Neasham for $550,000.
The second-top lot was an Extreme Choice x Top Billing colt offered by Kingstar Farm, which sold to for $480,000. The colt will head to Melbourne and be trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr.
At the conclusion of Day 1, the sale average sits at $113,325 with a clearance rate of 83% and gross of $23,616,500.
Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was pleased with the day one.
“It was a very good day of trade – the second-best start to a Classic Sale ever,” Hutch said.
“There were some fantastic results across a variety of vendors.
“There is an incredibly broad buying bench engaged with the sale and with so many nice horses on offer across tomorrow and Tuesday, there are going to be abundant opportunities for those who have missed out today to get involved over the next two days.”
Dynamic Syndications were at the sales looking for the best of the bunch – the pick of the crop to add to our 16 Yearlings already secured. We only had a small list of qualified lots catalogued in this sale by pedigree genetics to inspect, and just a handful survived, but naturally when shopping at this level, most buyers gravitate to the same lots which see these sell well over true market valuation.
With so many sales to come, and the excitement of the Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne where we have achieved so much success, then rolling into Inglis Easter, we are happy to keep our powder dry for later sales where higher quality lots will present themselves for us to purchase for our clients.
